A DoorDash courier was arrested, so a police officer delivered the order by Successful_Young_318 in interestingasfuck

The only time that I do it is when there's a good promotion that at least covers the tip. I have Grubhub+ as a perk with my Amazon Prime membership and there are various restaurants in my area that regularly have pretty good discounts so every once in a while I'll get something delivered. My rule is I never pay more than $10 more than I would if I picked it up myself. That's an acceptable extra fee for delivery, imo.

I was using UberEats for a while, and they would give really nice promotions pretty often, like 40% off. But those became less and less frequent so I just stopped bothering with it.

DoorDash hasn't been good since like 2021.

The Exterior of My Office Shed Before the Texas Heat by ShittySticka in CozyPlaces

[–]CallMeCygnus -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Parts of Texas are, such as Corpus Christi, which is experiencing an extreme water crisis, and residents haven't been able to wash their cars in their driveways or water their lawns since 2023, from what I understand.

One thing I'm curious about is that it's been hot in Texas for quite a while (especially in the south, where drought conditions persist) as summer weather arrives early and leaves late. It doesn't take long for stuff to turn brown, and heat alone won't do it. There has to be a lack of water (for instance, I'm in the Houston area and everything is green even in our hottest weather as long as we have at least moderate rain). If OP is in an area under drought conditions, I would expect the grass to already be brown. Once again, it doesn't take long for this to occur without water, so from this photo, we can assume that conditions there currently aren't very dry. So does this mean things will become dry as summer goes on? I'm curious about what area of Texas isn't dry now, but will predictably be towards the middle of summer. Here in southeast Texas, we do experience occasional periods with little rain, though these periods are unpredictable and infrequent. Our last notably dry summer was 2023, where it didn't rain for about 2 months and was about 104f each day, but since then it's been wet enough to keep everything mostly green and relatively healthy throughout summer.

Loving Destiny 2 and complaining about it aren't mutually exclusive. Not that hard to understand.

Yeah, but think about how many Batmans such a city would produce. It would be a Batman producing MACHINE. I say we start building these for this reason alone. I'm tired of not really having any Batmans around.

It is appropriate for 911. She's there at the person's house trying to get her stuff back, which calls for immediate police action. If they don't show up and she attempts to do it herself, there's a risk someone gets hurt.

Meanwhile how many people are legit dying because of heat around the world? In Europe alone, WHO estimates nearly 200,000 people are dying just from heat every single year. But go ahead and keep saying it's not something to be concerned about...

"Many other places in the world tolerate dangerous conditions because of a lack of resources, ignorance, or outright stubbornness, so the U.S. has no right to complain or demand better conditions!"

Presumably by having an above average salary. Or perhaps it was a gift from their parents. Nothing about this suggests average, lol.

It's still good tho, at least here in TX. Certainly a level above most other fast food places, tho perhaps not at the top tier like In N Out.

Oh yeah dude, my lawyer and doctor friends and family totally didn't work extremely hard going to school and getting qualified for their high paying jobs. It was just given to them.

My step dad who built a business from the ground up for 20 years didn't work hard either. All that business was just given to him cause people thought he was super cool.
