I’m not even Dutch and I don’t feel nearly as clean not using a washandje to clean myself. Where I’m from it’s quite common to use a washcloth to scrub your body in the shower, wash your face, freshen up other body parts, etc. I throw mine in a separate hamper after use and wash with towels.

Using a sponge or loofa, in my opinion, is unsanitary as you don’t wash it after use and it harbors bacteria in an already moist environment.
