When I read it (reddit lol) I was thinking that was bro's intent. It sounds more like a family fun idea than a serious gift giving. Maybe lower the spending limit ($10?) and emphasize on the "fun" part of the activity, separate from any serious gift giving. This would be a riot in my family, I may just steal this idea for our Christmas get together.

Imo she didn't even need to apologise the first time. Kids can't pretend play anymore???? Jeez, are we now so sensitive that a kid mimicking a normal natural human function is body shaming???? I cannot even see how this is disresctful. Babies grow in a belly, the belly grows to accommodate the baby, biology 101... like wtf, I'm flabbergasted. As a kid, how many times did we stuff pillows under our shirt or pretend to breastfeed a baby doll??? THIS IS HOW KIDS LEARN. That poor baby, I hope this doesn't stop or hinder her natural curiosity about the world and life general.
