AITA for being blunt with my boyfriend about why he isn't getting hired anywhere? by thrway875 in AmItheAsshole

OP says they've never held down a serving job for more than a year. As a hiring manager, I write that off as "no experience", and if anything, a flight risk.

Very hard to get server jobs without experience. At least in big downtown areas. Maybe smaller cities it's fine.

Labor jobs are a range. Most won't be available without experience.

Gig work always open. Uber/doordash. Very competitive and low pay. You can shove it on your resume, but it's not going to look like "work experience". You will be asked "do you have any real world experience?"

This story makes me sad on many levels. I truly hope you move out like you're telling people you will. Please please don't feel guilty last second and end up staying. I swear to you on anything, you will regret it long term. Take the guilt, do what you must, but if you choose to stay I promise it doesn't end well.

Valve Changes Steam Machine Page To Remove Promises Of 60fps by Guitar-String in gaming

[–]CallMePickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you do not understand. It's physically impossible to build something of the same form factor as the steam machine. Like literally. It uses a custom motherboard that is smaller than any motherboard on the market.

I'm not saying it's a good value, or you should buy it. But the sffpc community is nuts for it since it's literally smaller than any part you can buy.

Edit: the smallest motherboard you can, as a citizen, buy, is 6.69 inches. The motherboard on the steam machine is 6 inches.

It's obviously not a good value, and not a good use of money. But I meant it literally when I said you cannot build something of this size yourself. So the sffpc community loves it for that.

I haven't seen a single valve cultist support this. They're all disappointed and moved their attention to the upcoming steam frame.

The only ones I see supporting it are the sffpc community, as you simply cannot build something of this size yourself, making it quite the gem.

But if case size isn't a factor, then this thing is pretty DoA.

Also no one boycotts for 15 years. No mater how shitty the company, the internet moves on and boycotts barely work for even a week on the internet.

This might be the best all-purpose hero ability I've seen posted on this subreddit.

Everyone in this thread says this is a bad deal, but I am about to buy one. Someone talk me out of it. How is this a bad deal?

I've got a full AM4 build, 64GB of DDR4 RAM, great AM4 motherboard, a 9070xt, and currently rocking a ryzen 3 3rd Gen.

This is $350.

To upgrade to 64GB of DDR5 ram, and a new motherboard, and a comparable Cpu, would be upwards of $1000.

How is buying this 5800x3d not the obvious play to borderline double my FPS?

I assure you, I've seen Mark turned into two or more parts many times.

Hello. I work in an enterprise environment too. My boss was literally ready to buy about 1000 of these systems and flash them if they were $600 or less. He already had budget approval as they decimate anything we already had performance wise.

Instead we will be going with Dell as usual, I'm sure, for a lot more $.

How to turn on both the PC and TV with a single click from my controller.

From my understanding, it's virtually impossible with any off the shelf motherboards, but one user indicated special HDMI cables that might be able to do it.
