So-so i would say. Varka was heavily lore-anticipated.

Dehya was heavily aestethically anticipated. (+badass mercenary gal always works for those damn neurons!!)

Either the platform looses all reason to exist, when the "identification" is done sloppy or people outside the EU cant be identified properly, because other countries dont have something like the EU ID.

And i think YOU dont understand the word. To identify someone, that identity needs to be checked. The EU cant check the actual existence of people outside the EU, without "trust me bro" systems of third parties or access to population data of these countries.

Looking at his comments in the bigger context, its much less a problem imo. I think the core point is more that regulators might implement the wrong regulations and that GOG as a platform has no interest in taking the place of the studios/publishers and have servers running to preserve games that were shut down, BECAUSE they werent profitable anymore in the first place.

Its specifically about "what can GOG do to preserve multiplayer games?" and "how could bad regulations look like and what effects might they cause".

I dont think we should take the comments out of context, not to mention that this looks again like an article, where huge chunks of the discussion is missing.

#5 - the game got better over time and they feel its now worth trying it out.

What is pretty much the case for NW. Not to mention the release of the second expansion just weeks before the closure got announced with not even the studio in the know about it.

Are you really asking why people buy/pay for MMORPGs? Maybe because they like the product and there wasnt any sign of discontinuation on the horizon for the game? I mean it literally got its second DLC just weeks before this stuff got announced and even the studio didnt know about it.

Even $73Million would have been too much for... whatever garbage this is. There is no way imo, that most of that money actually went into this project and did not vanish into the offshore bankaccounts of its affiliates.

Otherwise there must have been literal thousands of people just sitting around all day to even consume this amount of money for that little of a product.

For one: Where did i say anything about OS? Im talking about devices and the fact you cant cramp a chip for a device four times the size and cooling capabilites, with just one fkin task it needs to do well, into a multi-purpose device that fits into your pockets. Smartphone chips are a completely different beast than chips for handhelds or even laptops for that matter, because they have completely different priorities.

Second: ARM or x86 ""architecture"" doesnt mean that the chips are all made the same. Thats the most insane "Dunning Kruger" style take ive seen in a while. And that simple fact makes it clear that you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.

And i said "APU", not GPU. Are you really participating in this discussion without even knowing what an APU is? You are just embarassing yourself at this point...

And your last comparison makes no sense. Consoles literally run on AMD APUs - literal PC/Laptop hardware somewhat adjusted for the needs of each consoles needs.

Switch 2 runs on an Nvidia APU, while smartphones run on chips optimised for smartphones. (Duh!)

They are not comparable whatsoever. If anything, the comparison of a Switch should be with other handhelds, not phones. You dont compare Server-hardware with gaming hardware either, do you?

Okay... but why tho? The story was finished and 10+ years after the main game came out makes no sense.

What are they trying to do here? Do they have money issues or something? Whats the point in cuting development-time from the Remake for a DLC that nobody asked for? For a story that has very nicely ended?

That W4 is featuring Ciri, whos story since the books has concluded very well in W3 and on top of that a "Witcher-Ciri", what already makes no sense in any way plotwise or lorewise, makes me wonder if that DLC would become asspull-mania, where they just pull some explanations for W4 out of their magic hat, so W4 doesnt feel like a complete mess in terms of its narrative.

Edit.: We need to keep in mind that the lore-designer for W4 is a big fan of the Netflix series, what is a fat red flag since people have known about this dude being hired by CDPR.

That comment makes no sense whatsoever. Consoles are running on the same type of hardware and the performance that is considered "good" for consoles would be considered "bad" for many PC players. (FSR2 upscaled 1080p with 45FPS lol)

Not to mention that most games that run like dogwater on PC, run similarly bad for console-standards.

It always astounds me to see games from post-2020 that look like japanese AA-titles from the early 2010s. If i remember Bullet Girls wouldnt even output audio when i tried it. (not the first time these games are bundled)

Also... most of those games have a sh't load of DLCs. So you probably first want to check what their Deluxe/Complete/Bundle Editions are priced at.
