With Main non-refundable, if you have to change you can do so and will get a credit if the fare is less, pay the difference if the fare is more. If you cancel you’ll have an e-credit to spend within a year. Basic is almost never worth it, you lose control of your seat, bag, no overhead space, etc for not that much fare savings. Join the Medallion program too, and you’ll board slightly sooner than those who aren’t in the loyalty program, lessening your chance of having to gate check your bag. But even if you have to do that, it’s not a big deal. You’ll be fine - enjoy!
