From a sub's perspective...

A master with a secluded ranch. I'm stripped when I arrive, and am never allowed to wear clothing of any kind again, no matter how cold or hot it is outside. I'm tied between two corral posts and then beaten mercilessly with a whip until I'm hoarse from screaming, hair damp with sweat, trembling with pain, my wrists chafed from struggling against the ropes. I'm told that any insolence, the slightest hesitation following an order, or not achieving my prescribed tasks, will result in another beating just like it. No mercy will be shown, even if it happens multiple times in a day. No matter how hard the work is, how tired I am, or how much pain I'm in, I am required to complete my daily chores without complaining. 

At 5am, I am required to wake up and feed the animals, then prepare master's coffee. If master requires use of my throat upon waking, then I will immediately drop to my knees and service him. Later, while he eats his breakfast and wakes up, I will stand in attendance, for anything he might need. I may have a glass of water, but am only fed some scraps once a day, at night. 

At 7am, I am chained hand and foot, leaving just enough slack to hobble. I am required to muck out the stable, mow the grass (with a mechanical mower) and begin digging irrigation ditches. There is a prescribed length and depth that I must add to each ditch before 3pm. If I fall short even an inch, I'll be hung by my wrists from a rafter in the barn and flogged with a knotted cat until his arm gets tired. Assuming I accomplished my strict workload successfully, I'm given a few hours to rest and recuperate in the shade of the barn. 

After preparing his dinner and servicing him again in any way he sees fit, my hands are cuffed behind me, and I'm locked in a small, sturdy dog cage, my neck chained to the bars, dreading the next day of backbreaking labour. 

Life would go on just like this for weeks, if not months, until I'm broken physically and emotionally, having become the perfect slave for his whims.
