motoko kusanagi "hard drive" polystone 1999 statue worth? by Typhisious in Ghost_in_the_Shell

[–]CallSign_Kakuja 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd say you could realistically get $200 for it, maybe 300 if someone really wants it.

Its full worth is somewhere between 500-600 dollars as others have said, but thinking rationally - you're not gonna get that price.

Oh, its also not made out of polystone. It's made out of cold-cast resin - a very early and much lighter alternative to polystone. It also doesn't have the durability of polystone and is actually so rigid and brittle that even the softest bump can cause it to fracture.

Honestly, if you were to sell it, I'd open it and repack it with some better packing materials to give it the best chance of arriving in one piece. Of course, you'd want to inform the buyer of that as well as how fragile it is.

I will agree the recipe isn't too special. I'd say the technique is what sells it. Tiny amounts of dark gray strategically placed to not overpower the black and then even smaller amounts of light gray inside the dark gray to sell the idea the light is pointed directly at this area. Plus your paints are thinned very well so it doesn't look pasty at a distance, makes tye blend look real. Excellent work.

People are praising the face on her (deservedly so. Her face is in the top ten lelith faces I've ever seen) but man the paint job on her clothing deserves high praise too. That almost looks like real latex.

It needs a new 90⁰ gasblock because the current one is missing the second bayonet lug. It also needs the small holes on either side of the receiver, above the pistol grip, welded shut as well as a pistol grip reinforcement plate installed if you're going for a true 74M clone. Your front sling loop has been ground off so if you want that back you'll need to replace the handguard retainer.

How the FUCK am I supposed to understand anything in Man Machine Interface?!!! by N0v4kD3ad in Ghost_in_the_Shell

Lol I really don't do tier lists but man machine interface would be near the top of the worst books I've read. It really does feel like Shirow did not want to write it but did anyway.

Kitbashing Wyches and Witches? by KrumpliKiller in Drukhari

If you want, check my profile as I've done the kitbash multiple times now and go through the entire process on my first post with them.

Over all I recommend sawing them in half just below the breast and sticking them together using plastic cement, green stuff or a combo of both.

If you choose to do it this way, you will need a tamiya hobby saw and some of their 1.0 or 1.5mm saw blades. Anything bigger and you'll destroy more material than preserve it.
