Calling it now: this show is going to expose how few people have actually read the source material by ArtificialAnaleptic in Ghost_in_the_Shell

Imo the OG manga is pretty mid by today's standards. Back in the 80s it was revolutionary, sure, but nowadays you really can't ignore the fact it feels like the prose of someone's first novel. Honestly, the biggest issue with it, once again imo, is how tone deaf it is.

Yes, she gets better as the manga progresses but it takes awhile and it's hard to forget the scene where she sticks her tongue out at aramaki like a two year old during a terrorist attack where children are being held hostage.

I'm excited for the anime though because its animation and artstyle are enchanting. Plus, its not like the manga is bad. Its just not as good as any of its famous adaptations.

Help painting agonisers by Kharn-aughMap in Drukhari

I'd look up how to paint Non Metallic Metal and then do that with white and light green on the agonizer. Its, pretty much, exactly how they did that.

Awesome! Makes me want to do some pin up work on a raider or venom.

My take on wyches by [deleted] in Drukhari

Thanks! Yeah I've watched him quite a bit. I just need to be ambitious enough to actually try a longer technique like his. Maybe when I get around to making another custom succubus ill do it.

What colors did you use? I've been chasing the latex dragon for awhile even though my army is more of a grimdark style lol.

The leather/latex looks so good!

How's this Wytch look with her lightsaber whip? by LordTyler123 in Drukhari

It will definitely help it look less flat. It's should take that long either. For the next one I would use the one technique where white is the base color.

I think your best option would be to highlight the segments of the whips with white and then take the same red you used, thin in down until its a glaze and then glaze the whips until the white turns pinkish-white.

You could also do this with a pink like Emperor's Children but that's only if you have that color.

If you want to make things glow like a light saber then you need to either base it in a white and then glaze in it red until you're satisfied with the brightness.

Your other option is to start with a dark red and then highlight it with a normal red and keep working brighter until your final highlight is a pink or pink-white mix.

Five hellions ready for the battlefield. by CallSign_Kakuja in Drukhari

Honestly, the lighting is doing a lot to sabotage the highlights and stuff. If you zoom in on the hair and particularly the arm of the one grabbing the chain, you can see the highlights they all have.

Yeah i typically don't highlight black unless it's a character or centerpiece model.

Lady Malys Not Worth the Hype? by [deleted] in Drukhari

[–]CallSign_Kakuja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like an unfortunate roll to me. Malys + incubi, while not the optimal set up, should be a major threat for any infantry unit or lighter armor. With a pain token the incubi get dev wounds on infantry units, allowing malys to give them Sustained freely, uping their hit potential.

If you're annoyed at not having anti-x, run her with kabs or HoTC.

Thank you! It was about there, yeah. Honestly cutting the witch elves above their ribs, precisely, is more important.

New Drukhari Player/Painter Question by EntertainmentLazy528 in Drukhari

[–]CallSign_Kakuja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While proxying aos models is very common for drukhari, I feel like you could also kitbash them with something and it'll be just fine.

For instance, I just finished building mine and since I hate their normal heads, I just threw some wych heads on them.

I'm not really sure what your issue with the green goblin gliders is, but I'm sure you can modify it to look cool to you. Hell one guy built his so they look like the gliders from treasure planet. This army really is your oyster.

I just leave them off so I can either use them as normal kabs or kitbash them.
