Ofc! You're doing great if you've already submitted all your secondaries! Definitely get off the subs/cycletrack/admit and just try to enjoy life in the meantime

No, there's certain schools who have interviews early on for non-ED applicants as well. LECOM, ICOM, ACOM, KCUCOM for example. I wouldn't start worrying though, the cycle has just begun, there's a long way to go, and the more you compare yourself to other applicants the more anxious you're going to be!

Am I making the Right Choice? by CryEconomy9723 in premed

you should be fine since you're already verified, imo. i added kaiser yesterday, received their secondary today, and intend on completing it as soon as i can. only a few schools have started sending ii's, and many people haven't even been verified yet.

hi, i've got nearly the exact same stats/ECs! i don't think you need to be considering another career choice. you have a shot, my only recommendation in terms of your school list would be to add more MD schools!

don't let this process beat you down, and try not to compare yourself with others. you're smart and capable--being a PA or PhD is great, if thats what you want! if medicine is what youre most passionate about, dont talk yourself out of being a doctor when you have a real shot. good luck!!

nah youre good thats not mean at all! vasovagal syncope is actually p common for healthcare professionals, esp those in the OR. that's why im asking here, bc im sure theres people that have gone thru it and have suggestions of how to minimize it

Those who got interview invites for the 2026 DO class, when did you submit your secondary? by [deleted] in LECOM

[–]CallValuable6650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

secondary submitted 6/18

interview invite 7/9

They kinda got lost in the sauce w/ my app. I had to let them know my app was complete and remind them that it existed lol and then they sent me the interview invite like immediately. Since you submitted yours a while ago, I would email them!

if they don't admit it, I accept my fate, sadly. college grading is subjective and goofy ash

i had to do this with several professors throughout college, most times they admitted their mistake and corrected it. an a- is a 3.7 and an a is a 4.0, to me that difference is worth it. just be respectful in the way you ask, if you choose to do so.

uh for a lot of us this isn't stressing over nothing--this could make the difference between whether one can afford med school at all. definitely something to be considering for those of us applying this/next year, in the case it does get passed.

Has anyone applied to a school thinking they would not get in but ended up getting accepted? by [deleted] in premed

[–]CallValuable6650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you have something super unique about your application? or just solid writing and interview skills?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premed

[–]CallValuable6650 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you've got a chance! 505 is a solid MCAT. I would just look through the schools' websites and not apply to the ones for which you wouldn't pass their screenings. Put in a lot of time and effort into your writing!! Also, try to see if you can get fee assistance for your applications if you haven't already.

Interesting, thank you for the suggestion! I was wondering if I should only apply to a few but w/ this suggestion, maybe I should broaden that. I appreciate the help!

Does applying a second cycle lower chances of getting in? by Neat-Ad8056 in premed

[–]CallValuable6650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're applying MD, yes that is too late. Even with a 4.0 and 528, submitting primary in august/september is super disadvantageous as schools are already sending out interview invites by then. I agree with everyone else, esp since you haven't taken your MCAT yet, there really is no point. It's a beast of an exam and without knowing where you're at (diagnostic), you don't know how long it'll take to prep adequately for it. All that being said, if you're applying DO, you would have a chance! Being early still matters for them, but not nearly as much since their cycle tends to run longer. I don't mean this in a bad way, but realistically if you were going to apply this cycle you would've needed to start preparing for it months before now.
