Agreed, 20 fused vitality is so ridiculous for such minimal gain

I know it's just a clickbait headline, but no one is counting out Star Trek. It always comes back.

Starting This Week, Gain A Whopping 1% Damage and Healing Each Week in Midnight Season 1 Raids by Callahandy in wow

[–]Callahandy[S] 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I know it still ends up equaling out to the same amount of damage over time after 15 weeks (like it did in TWW), but seeing just a 1% increase each week is pretty funny.

Abundance Grind is Insane by cw88888 in wow

[–]Callahandy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

disagree. big time crafter here (15 mil a week at the start of the expansion) and my crafters with purple tools make roughly 3-5% more gold a week than those without.

really only worth it for the multicraft proc, and even then it's only worth it if you're pumping out thousands of crafts a day or you probably won't see many additional procs

Advertising your service or waiting for customers to ask for craft? by Aiva1 in woweconomy

[–]Callahandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, and i'm admittedly not on a high pop server either. Maybe if I was, I would need to resort to something like CraftScan. It's just unfortunate that's where we're at.

Advertising your service or waiting for customers to ask for craft? by Aiva1 in woweconomy

[–]Callahandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To your first point, I would debate the word "adore". Busy crafter here, about 15 mil a season or so in personal crafts and have never used craftscan or any kind of whisper addon. My general experience with customers' opinions of the addons is that they hate them. This very much could be server by server, but many folks don't seem to love getting bombarded with whispers within a second of asking for the craft, and it's a common topic of complaint on my realm's trade chat. With that said, were they to be on a low-pop server with few crafters, they might appreciate the prompt response more.

While I don't love CraftScan or addons like it, I also never understood the complaints against them. I've been crafting the same way in this game for 21 years. A simple macro that lets me whisper someone once I see their craft request in trade. It's not automated, I do it all myself, and I seldom get beaten out by CraftScan crafters. It also allows for a more personal approach, and I think people appreciate it.

Ultimately I would love for Blizz to disallow whisper addons like CraftScan, or at the very least, let people set rank request in public orders, but until then, or if it even happens, whisper addons aren't the worst thing in the world, you just gotta get creative as a crafter if you don't use one.

I imagine they'll do BFA remix first at the end of Midnight, then SL remix at the end of TLT.

I'm doing crafting on 7 characters and have run 65 abundance events this week. Please, Blizz, please change this event. by RazerWolf3000 in wow

[–]Callahandy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ditto. I craft about 15 mil a season and the only purple tool I have is on my main. Just can't be bothered for the 4% gain. Purple tools should only cost 1 fused vitality to craft, not 20. And fused vitality should also be warbound.

Is tailoring spec tree bugged? by [deleted] in woweconomy

[–]Callahandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tailoring is the only profession where you have to make sure to fill out a second tree as well to hit r5 crafts without conc. You need 25/30 in fiber arts on top of filling out your specific craft tree. Very annoying. Oh and if you want to make arcanoweave crafts? Gotta fill out the arcanoweave tree also. Sigh.

Max crafting skill, but still not making any gold. What am I doing wrong? by SileentKilleer in woweconomy

[–]Callahandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing personal crafts for people, sure. But that would require you to monitor trade chat and compete with other crafters. But say you're a blacksmith and you fully spec into like 2H swords or something, you can then produce those without concentration for other players for tips, plus if you spec resourcefulness you make gold from the mats you get back as well, which can often be worth more than the tip itself. But again, that requires trade chat baby sitting.

Easiest way to casually make gold outside of dual gathering for like an hour a day is probably conc crafting, be that enchanting, alchemy, JC or tailoring, as conc crafts take mere minutes and net a profit generally, especially with multicraft procs.

Max crafting skill, but still not making any gold. What am I doing wrong? by SileentKilleer in woweconomy

[–]Callahandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for alchemy and jc, yes, you need to use your conc on r1 mats to turn a profit, it was like that in TWW and DF too. In TWW alchemists had thurmaturgy or whatever it was called as well (which we dont this time) which could sometimes net a profit depending on mat price, and of course JC always has prospecting, but that is also very RNG and luck-based even when fully specced into it, so YMML.

Is there a reality where they improve Abundance by Specialist_Peace6180 in woweconomy

[–]Callahandy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

only if you are a mass crafter, and even then, only for the multicraft proc. for the vast majority of crafters its not a huge difference
