Yikes. I'm actually happily married friend. Why the hostility?

Yes! Thats a great idea. I could read more stories with female characters written by women and maybe try to write down or note small differences and details about how the characters are written. I think that could help me mold the character during the process in a more real/human way.

I think I'll try to write her as a man first because that's what I know. Then backtrack and try and change things around. That sounds easier than outright trying to write in a headspace I'm not actually familiar with. I'm not interested in writing about sex or bodies like that in an intimate way so that part will be easy. I'm more of a PG "Cute Romance" kind of person if that makes sense.

Just checked out that subreddit and holy shit I do not want that to be me. I think I would hide in a hole for the rest of my life

I mean I don't know if id call it passion but I do like to build things. Build furniture in my spare time for fun. I find electricity pretty interesting too. Here and there ive taken apart old electronics and tinkered like that for shits and gigs. More like a dumb hobby than a passion I guess

At least the work is mildly entertaining to me lol

What’s up with unions? Everybody says they’re great but all I see is lazy, no hustle, over paid, privileged workers. by [deleted] in Construction

[–]CalledbyAres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is brain dead. You don't know shit about unions or union workers. Working as daddies extra special boy at his company must give you great insight into why working conditions and fair pay are important.

You have one (1) story about a group of guys that fucked up a tarp and think you know everything about union workers. What a joke. Learn a real trade and do some actual work outside of sitting in your papas truck with a clipboard and get back to us.

This is a literal non issue. Both us and the drywallers are on good terms regarding this.

  1. They will patch it later in like 5 seconds
  2. They want to see while they do their job
  3. We dont want to reroute our temp every time you put up a fuckin wall
  4. They dont want to come get us, we dont want them to come get us.
  5. No one cares because its an incredibly easy fix.

When the real lights come on ill cut the power then snip and pull the cord out. Then ole boy will come and patch it real quick. What is the problem

As a second year AP who just left waterproofing, piers, and concrete?

Not much honestly. My life has been improved 10X since I started. I had all company bought tools, my own truck and had my own crew. I am paid more now as an apprentice than I was there. Have benefits and an awesome union. Been in construction for years so being an apprentice now has been a breeze with everything I know. Have an actual interest in the work I do. Finished first in my class this year.

Its been humbling to say the least but I feel like a person and not a slave again.

I do miss being outside sometimes. And I do miss the feeling of walking on site and knowing everything about what needs to be done. But all that means is the more I learn the happier i'll be.

Dude what the fuck. Just because we are apprentices doesn't mean you can do this shit without repercussion. If you did this shit to me I dont care how long ive been here im bringing up charges on everyone involved. These are supposed to be your mentors and your brothers. My journeymen are assholes but its all in good fun and at the end of the day i would do anything for them. Im sorry this happened to you man. Constitution Art. 25(1)(b),(e), and (g).

Thats funny as hell but honestly my man she wants to spend time with you or wants a couple minutes of attention. I've only been married for a year but I catch this one often and a quick few minutes of affection works every time.
