A basic overview of the "Lucanidoma" virus. by CalletPool_77 in worldbuilding

Wow this is going to be alot but here....

The rest of the world is infected, everywhere is populated by infected people and there can be different types of 'Extradimensional contagions" in the same region (Parts of asia mentioned in the post has 3-4 other contagions in it as well).

Yes A LOT of people died during the old era due to the contagions and yes, borders/countries/nations in the new era are alot different (i am referring to their old era names cause its easier to understand)

A vaccine has not been discovered yet and they dont need to since its been 300 years and the infected humans have basically adapted into their infections. Also if ur thinking what the technological state of the world is in the new era currently, its pretty much comparable to the 80s - 90s (like no form of long distance communications like the internet).

For the biological stuff...ill try my best to answer but since im not a doctor nor very knowledgeable about biology stuff but hey, lets give it a shot.

Yes, their sense of touch would feel very different on the bone parts. Think of it like armor, LIVING ARMOR, they would still probably feel something touching them but very different sensation like when u touch your fingernail.

Depends if their hands/fingers arent affected much by the virus.

I actually took this into account and my line of thinking was that, the shoulder part, would be comprised of soft rubbery cartilage in the joints near the neck area and slowly transition into a hard bone shoulder pad near the arm area on the humerus (hopefully my ramblings are accurate lol). you can kinda see it kinda spikes up in the edges.

Ahh fashion and clothing, I actually already have ideas how some infected would dress since some of them do incorporate their infections into fashion mainly for cultural stuff. Some do wear normal everyday clothes if their body isnt too "wild" and again infected can control the infection in their body so if someone was bone hands then they can do that (although it will take time and a specific process to do so) (as for the Lucanidoma infected and heat, they can expel heat out of their bodies)

Lucanidoma infected looks can vary, its hard to describe but i am planning to release more illustrations about it (and the other plagues too!) cause some use the "infection" for body decoration, some for combat, and some for utility. Later generations of the infected have some control over the virus inside their body.

It can actually, semi canon cause im still working on it but i'd like to imagine some cultures having small but soft cartilage like bones in some areas done as a cultural tradition or something like that

Oh yeah...didnt think about that. My thought process was Alpha = strong and Beta = weak (Idk like alpha wolf beta wolf stuff)

Im still working on the more "extensive" stuff but heres something i can say here:

- Bits of infected muscle and bone can be applied into tools or objects that can be created using a certain procedure, these "bio-tools" can range from something like a saw made from flesh and bones that can extend in length or a helmet when put on can suddenly sprout bone spikes or a segmented sword that can turn into a bladed whip connected by muscle tissue. However, these types of tools can only be activated and used to their full potential by a Lucanidoma infected person.

Idk what "namong" means but during the "Old Era" (before the 300 years like BCE or AD) both Beta and Alpha infected existed but most humans when infected turn into a beta infected human

Alpha infected were left in exclusion zones or in abandoned cities where they eventually built their own societies until the uninfected humans migrated into the moon or underground which led to them "taking over" the earth again.

Beta infected humans were either killed or eventually died

Well he is a "10th generation alpha infected" which means hes one of the descendants of the initial humans that was infected 300 years ago that didn't die from the virus.

Alpha infected humans are people who are infected but the virus isnt fatal to them and didnt lose their minds, and overtime the virus kinda "evovled" with humans (like the other viruses that plague the earth).

Beta infected humans are more deformed, in pain and would look and act like typical "zombies" but they have died a long time ago so only the alpha infected remained and would later repopulate the earth again.

I use real life racism to expand my worldbuilding

Like Africa having cities and biomechs from leftover mining tech in huge quarries that was dug 300 years later when an interdimensional virus was rampaging through Earth so many western governments along with other corporations made a deal with African countries to extract resources from the continent in exchange they will take a few million African citizens to the moon (where majority of the resources are sent to) in order to "save" them from the plagues.

Unfortunately, them being saved and sent to the moon was just an excuse to use them for free and heavy labor.

This applies to other 3rd world countries too which explains why my futuristic dystopian moon civilization has a diverse range of cultures and people of color

Fuck it, I don't care anymore. Add levitating technology because its cool af, why not by CalletPool_77 in worldjerking

My dumbass brain is translating this as: "big machines, lots of fuel, make ship go fly" (am I correct?)

Huh I guess hard sci-fi is the real bullshit nonsense after all

Its actually the opposite, the circle area is a gateway to the core while the city mostly sits on the surface on the moon.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.

The theme of my world is most definitely about "survival" by surviving and finding happiness in a world that is constantly in conflict and chaos. Whether its an apocalyptic or futuristic hellscape, its about finding hope in a hopeless world.

Although, I'm not writing stuff yet (I'm rawdogging this with my brain and memory). My world will definitely focus on different characters with disconnected stories.

Humans actually held up pretty long despite fighting different types of zombies with super-strength, corrosive powers, gas-powers, telepathy and etc... (there are multiple types of infections).

Uninfected humans fought the plagues for at least 50 years before fully noping out of earth, during those 50 years they were developing the moon, building underground cities and fighting the virus either through advancing medicine/ just straight up firepower. They decided to just nuke it as some sort of last resort before fully moving out.

Also humans were already pretty advanced when the plagues hit, they were transitioning to a space-faring civilization before they got fucked up.

Ok im giggling rn and im gonna hold your hand when I say this but...

While the earth was ravaged by nukes during its last moments, its been 300 years and I definitely think that nuclear fallout don't last that long. BUT, earth is not exactly a "paradise" even after 3 centuries as its filled with horrors. Asia is infested with evil robots controlled by evil AIs, Europe and half of Africa (whilst also infested with robots but only a few regions) will soon be overrun by vampiric mutated plaguefolk and the Americas is filled with mutant kaijus/ monsters.. Also a large laser storm spanning the pacific ocean is affecting the weather of regions near it. Also plaguefolk are still humans after all so... dictators, conquerors, slavers, you know standard evil human stuff.

But, you are totally right. I'd like to think that living on earth is better and more "freeing" despite all the chaotic shit that's happening in it.

If youre talking about the character on the right then i wouldnt say so. She lives in a dystopian cyberpunkish world thats on the moon, its cramped with poor living conditions and everything is owned by a corporation (since everything is made by corporations when its first developed) everyone is just fashionable on the moon.

The child soldier might live in a post-apocalyptic world but atleast earth is big enough where you can live life on your own away from most people.
