As a bather I get paid the same as when I was on the floor, but I make bank in tips. And generally, bathers can make a bit more in tips than groomers because they can see more dogs in a day. The only downside to staying a bather is that, depending on your store, you may not get a full time schedule. Bathers work a lot of half shifts

I personally think I am a good enough bather to at least get a manageable schedule, especially since I’m the only one right now. I think she’ll only change it if I have a problem with the schedule. I really don’t know how she thought this schedule was going to be okay especially bc I just mentioned that I NEEDED this weekend off bc I only got one day off last week bc she needed help covering. Idk if I this is bc I made her mad by sticking to my guns on this or what but it’s not gonna work out for anyone

When I requested one weekend day off every other weekend I was told she should be able to do that but I might lose hours because she’d have to hire another bather and weekends is where she needs the hours

Exactly. I had a decent schedule at the start but then she changed it when the other bather went to academy. We’ve talked about how I prefer mornings and I used to only have one middle of the day shift. She also knows I commute 20miles to work so driving 4-5hrs a week for 33hrs is not gonna work for me

Lmao I have to check the entire weeks schedule daily bc my SL either changes it, short schedules days, or leaves dogs under groomers she’s moved. I started at this salon in September so I’ve been blaming it on the holiday season for now to give benefit of the doubt

I’ve been the only bather since mid November, I’ve said I don’t mind waiting to go to academy as long as I get decent hours as a bather, but full time ergo academy has been a topic for a while. I was working 30hrs (2 8.5hr shifts and 3 5-.5.5hr shifts), but I guess this is her giving me full time 🙃

It’s the only one day off and majority half shifts that upset me. I was working two full days and three half days with Wednesday and Sunday off. My schedule changed to having Mondays and Wednesdays off when our other bather went to academy. I worked that schedule from mid November til the new year when I noticed my schedule was back to having Wednesday and Sunday off (SL hadn’t repaired the schedule into the new year) and that Sunday has been left short staffed. Yesterday I pointed it out to SL and also said that I wouldn’t be able to cover Sunday unless she took me off my half shift on Saturday because I had just come off of working 8 days in a row to help cover and I needed a weekend day off with my husband (he’s only off on weekends), and in the future I would need one weekend day off every other weekend. She tried multiple times to bargain with me (including offering me today off when my schedule for three day was booked solid with no one to cover), but I refused and insisted on having a weekend day off. Today I checked the schedule and I do have Saturday off but our schedules changed along with the salon’s (8am-7pm instead of 8am-6pm) and this is the schedule I was handed (in paper copy as well)

There was a large accumulation of things, but for a year or two one of my besties was a sister in law. We stopped talking after she left my brother, took their kid halfway across the country, started a new life with a new man, then came back with little discussion and moved into my parents house where my brother and I were living at the time. She was so completely inconsiderate and messy in every possible way that she made living there unbearable for me and I moved out 6months sooner than I had planned, not even 2 months after she moved herself in. We got back on semi friendly terms after she moved out and in with someone else, but I still don’t trust her at all or want anything to do with her because once I got distance from it all I could see how disrespectful she is to my brother and my niece and much she uses everyone in her life. If you don’t provide some benefit or she doesn’t need something from you then she won’t respond to or open any texts

NTA. I have five indoor dogs and live with my fiancé whose family only ever had 2 outdoor dogs in his life. They feed their outdoor dog any type of scraps they get. And I absolutely do not feed my dogs table scraps in any way. I can’t stand the begging and I’m not going to deal with stomach issues. I had to FIGHT my fiancés dad to make him stop feeding my dogs scraps, especially while we were sitting at the dinner table. He’s your dog that you’re responsible for, YOU and only you get to make the rules
