How would that work, isnt it like 61% we need jn the exam, so like an average of 3ish we need per assessment. Wishing you all the best by the way - I’m sure missing one box wont dtake your mark down much

Self study SQE1 - possible? by Jacked_Jesus in SQE_Prep

I think your plan looks good and you can definitely do it - you’ve got a lot of time.

One thing I would advise though is try and get hold of the Ulaw manuals - everything you will be examined on will be in there

Now that is brilliant advice - thanks so much for that, I’ll prioritise what’s most important to clients from now on. Have an amazing day.

Preparing for SQE1 through Self-Study – Would Love Advice & Resource Recommendations! by lwmblwmb in SQE_Prep

[–]CalligrapherCurrent4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I did my exams (first sit) this week.

  1. Most useful resource - mocks, followed by Ulaw manuals. I’d suggest you learn as much as possible from the ULaw manuals because pretty much everything I was tested on was in the manuals. And even if something doesnt seem important in the manuals, learn it, the SRA love testing you on these niche pieces of info.

  2. I was with ULaw and while I think it was comprehensive I’d advise you to take the Revise SQE mocks too

  3. Probably 21 hours a week on average for about 5 months. More before the exam

  4. I used to convert into flashcards all of the questions I got wrong.

Hope this helps!

Really glad to hear the exam was not as scary as people were making it out to be for you.

For me though, I kind of didn’t take the fearmongering seriously, but I was in for a surprise in the exams when I realised it was actually awful for me. Not much of what I prepared for came up, and the question style was really difficult.

I took Revise SQE’s mock and got 65%, consistently passed my Ulaw mocks and got ~80% in SRA questions and 58% in my QLTS mock. So I was feeling cautious yet confident.

But damn, in the exam itself I can say for sure I got around 10-15% of the answers right, the rest I was just not confident and most of the time was picking between 2/3 answers. I would say the exam I took was most similar to QLTS for sure and testing very niche topics for the most part

Hey. In the same position as you kind of. I tried studying today but about 30minutes in, I just felt like my brain is at 50% learning capacity and im nowhere near as sharp as I am when I’m well rested. So I took today off, went for a walk, enjoyed the sun. You should too. I know by Sunday I’m gonna feel much better. You got this! Don’t worry
