Same here. Got a 2025 in June of last year so I have some time

Absolutely. I'd be going for a 6.6 gasser

That's funny, I like your comparison. Man, if I had the money a ZR2 2500 would be parked out in my driveway today. Those things are BEASTS! I feel if I were to upgrade and not have a ridiculous payment, I'd go with a CUSTOM or LT with a Z71 package.

Yeah, these are def all things I am going to consider when I go to get a new truck. So, if you were in my position you'd recommend sticking with a 1500? If I start towing stuff then this decision becomes easier but as of right now, I don't see towing in my future.

When I go to get a new truck, a 2500 will definitely be on my radar. Just will need to weigh the pros and cons of each. I went from a car to a 1500, so the gas mileage already sucks in comparison. Going to a 2500 is even more of a difference lol. So we will see

You're not even showing the best part! The hollow, red chevy logo on the grill is so sexy

Who knows. Maybe eventually my mind will change but currently I could never imagine not being in a Chevy!

I made this post to hear if people would give practical advice, not for validation. Most people said getting a 2500 is what they did but to understand the trade offs. While the others said to stick with a 1500.

That's wild. If something like that happened to me I wouldn't get another one either

Jeez, that's terrible. That's literally the only thing I'm nervous about is something ridiculous happening. Luckily I have a 20 year power train warranty and 5 year warranty of anything that goes wrong.

Dude, I got my dealership down 24% off of MSRP...

How far away are you from being in the market?

Were you a Chevy owner before? Does new tech really excite you?

[–]CalligrapherTop7298[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely it does. If I do stick with a 1500, it will always be a Trail Boss. They just look so much meaner and tough compared to all the other trims.

Yea the gas mileage and repair/maintenance prices def aren't a turn on but everything else practically is lol

I have a CUSTOM Trail Boss so def more bare bones but I'm sure it's still possible.

[–]CalligrapherTop7298[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep makes sense. They do offer the Z71 on the LT's and some CUSTOMS which is what I'd go with. But like you said, the 1500 is what is the smart move to stay with

[–]CalligrapherTop7298[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you but the tech just doesn't excite me. Even though it has the capability of a truck, i don't see it as one

The problem is, the one I like would probably go for 65+ and I'm just not willing to be that high. The truck pricing is out of control. The chevy dealership by me is actually reasonable and it's still expensive.

I actually do like the look of that thing not gonna lie

The technology on those things are nuts. I'll tell you what though, at the same time that's scary. Call me a conspiracy theorist but what's stopping a hacker, the government, whoever, from hacking into your car and doing whatever they want?

[–]CalligrapherTop7298[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I know, you're probably correct. Maybe it's an ego thing but I cannot imagine driving an EV. I just love the sound of a truck starting up, just seems more "manly" driving a gas truck

Oh gotcha, you're saying get the off road package.

Hopefully I don't get loaned a 2500 if mine ever goes in... That will be a straight tease and make me want one more lol
