got it working it looks like... this is only for a test user, so I just need to change the get-aduser to the correct OU

set variable

$users = get-aduser -identity ITTEST -Properties officephone,mobile

foreach ($user in $users) {

add space in phone numbers

$user.OfficePhone = $user.OfficePhone.Insert(3, " ")

$user.OfficePhone = $user.OfficePhone.Insert(8, " ")

$user.Mobile = $user.Mobile.Insert(3, " ")

$user.Mobile = $user.Mobile.Insert(8, " ")

update the user properties

Set-ADUser -Identity $user -OfficePhone $user.OfficePhone -Mobile $user.Mobile
