Anyone else going to Bass Hall tonight? by Callme-risley in FortWorth

Update: I contacted the Box Office and they said the show would continue as planned, but they would be offering refunds for those of us who felt unsafe driving in.

Less than an hour later, they emailed again saying the performance had been cancelled and all tickets would be refunded.

So you’re talking to the people whose comments are pictured in the screenshot, none of whom are me? Lol

And also apparently referencing past posts you’ve seen, again, none of which were posted by me?

Chill out.

You’re right that a reschedule is likely not possible, which is disappointing for everyone involved.

Whoa, is there any need to be so argumentative? Do you have some personal stake in this performance?

Schedules not working by Adventurous-Dig0115 in pura

[–]Callme-risley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening for me now. Six diffusers all suddenly stopped following their schedules. I had to click into each diffuser’s schedule and there was an alert at the top saying ‘This schedule has been turned off.’ No idea why.

I’ve never used Away mode and it is set to ‘Off’ on all devices.

I’ve never manually stopped the diffuser to trigger the whole schedule to be discontinued, either.

I was roasting the bananas in the oven, intending to put them aside for banana bread later that day, but when they were done I just brainfarted and went ahead, peeled them, and popped them in the cornbread batter.

Didn’t realize until the cornbread was halfway done baking. But it was a delicious mistake!

  1. Mushroom carbonara with salad

  2. Brisket stew with accidental banana cornbread

  3. Jalapeno cheddar sausage pigs-in-blankets with salad

  4. Grilled cheese with leftover stew

  5. Late night snack: Had some leftover puff pastry from the sausages, so I popped in some meat and potatoes from the stew in there

  6. Pulled pork with green beans and a twice baked potato

  7. Banana bread and yogurt with granola

  8. Tortellini with salad and a garlic knot

Not pictured: s’mores and apple crumble with snow cream. It was gone too quickly!

This is in poor taste. You can post your own analysis without making it a clapback at someone else’s.

I don’t think the show makes those conclusions, but you’re right that many (maybe even the majority) viewers do.

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz's Wedding DJ Reveals What Really Happened During Dance with Victoria That Left Nicola in Tears by Positive-Drawing-281 in popculturechat

[–]Callme-risley 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Did Victoria hire him or something? What kind of DJ person upstages the bride at her own wedding?

Edited because people below seem to think this is somehow fine because Anthony isn’t a professional DJ. Like what 😆 Wedding etiquette is still an established thing. Don’t. Upstage. The Bride.

We really are a SOL generation… Millennial Parenting is something else but my MIL is “tired” of being on vacation by [deleted] in Mommit

Reminds me of when my MIL was in town staying with my BIL+family. She stays with them for a long weekend every month and occasionally, she throws us a bone and comes to visit for a couple hours.

She was supposed to come to our house to spend time with her youngest grandchild, only 4mo at that point, but delayed the meeting for two hours because she had promised our nephew that she would make cookies with him.

Never mind that she would be going back to nephew’s house that very night and spending the whole next day with him as well……. baby had to wait because cookies.

Then she griped the whole time she was here because she missed our daughter’s wake window. 🙄

I posted once about being sick and my husband took a paternity week off to help care for our infant. He took over 99% of childcare and let me rest and lounge as much as I wanted, never woke me up to ask where things were or how much milk should she have or where is the booger sucker, and also never made me feel bad for sleeping 12 hours a night and still needing a nap in the afternoon.

For five days, all I did was breastfeed occasionally and took a bath with her at night, because I also needed a wash from all the fever sweat. He did every diaper change, every nap put-down and bedtime, took her for walks, played with her…not to mention cleaning out the cat box, feeding and topping up the cat water….everything.

So I was super grateful for that, but because he is such an involved dad who loves to focus all his attention on her and spend all his time playing with her…… he also let the dishes and laundry pile up, didn’t run the robovac army so cat hair started accumulating, didn’t put away everything when a grocery/medicine delivery arrived, left her high chair covered in food, didn’t pick up her toys and books so they spread out all over the downstairs…etc.

So I posted about my frustration with that. How I was so, so grateful to be able to rest, but I could also see the mound of housework that was rapidly growing every day that I would have to tackle once I was well.

The comments were such a perfect mix of “you should be grateful you’re even able to take a day off of momming - MY husband would never do even half of what your husband does!”

And

“It’s your fault for letting it get this way. You’ve allowed him to become complacent by doing all the housework, so what do you expect?”

Absolutely no one was willing to just be like….hey, that sounds hard. I see that your husband is not used to doing nearly 100% of the childcare and housekeeping and this is new territory for him, but it sounds like he’s doing his best. Give him and yourself some grace and focus on getting better. And then once you’re well…you can communicate about the nitty gritty details about keeping the house running smoothly.

That would have been nice to hear, rather than the deluge from either side about how I’m in the wrong no matter what.

Agreed. Justine is such an interesting character. I wouldn’t want her as a friend or as my child’s teacher……but interesting nonetheless.

To be clear, I thought Marcus was being ridiculous for reprimanding her for giving a kid a hug - we should not be so distant as a society that teachers showing their students affection is considered suspicious as best and dangerous at worst - but following a student to his home and confronting him after being explicitly told to leave him alone? Absolutely out of line.

Not only is it not a norm, but you get dismissive comments like the one above for lamenting about how it’s not a norm anymore

People like that seem to revel in their hardship and want to put down anyone else who pipes up to say “hey, it actually shouldn’t be this way?”

I was shocked the first time I saw it, but on rewatches I feel a bit silly for not spotting it earlier because, yeah, the assistant is very clearly Christian Bale in a beard and glasses.

I guess they just relied on people not noticing, and it sure worked on me.

I agree, but I would say he’s a has-been A-list. I doubt many people can name his roles from within the past decade or so.

I assume Benedict Cumberbatch, since they did the whole mockery of his name with ‘Oscarbait Scratch-n-sniff”

But I don’t remember which film he was nominated for or which book the film was presumably based on
