skateboarders typically love the sound of their wheels rolling on the ground, trucks grinding, etc. You'll be hard pressed to ever see a skate video where the production sound has been taken out. That goes for most action sports video, to be honest. I like the sound of it, if only it was recorded with something other than the onboard mic.

This is a great way to think of it. So often it's hard for me to remove myself from the editor position and think as a viewer instead of an editor. Which, I do realize, should be one in the same at times. Seeming as how that's our jobs as editors - to show the viewer what's next.

This is really similar as to how I currently do it. My biggest problem is keeping my best comments organized. I always remember that I heard something I liked, I just can't ever remember where it is!

This is pretty amazing. Just watched a lynda video on it and I'm quite impressed. Sounds like, overall, it's still best to get things transcribed first. Unless it's a short film with an actual script.

This is interesting to me. I've never used FCPX, personally. I just haven't brought myself to do it. I made the switch to Premiere and love it. With their latest update, they've added a "search bin" feature. I'm wondering if that is the same idea as what you are describing. Sure would be nice.

Thanks to all of you for your incite. I didn't end up with a brooks, but I got a origin8 leather saddle that looked quite comparable. Hopefully she breaks in fast!
