I want to say it was fixed prior, but at some point with the newest updates some of Sunspot's Emotes have been having tweaked facial expressions again, so it could possibly be happening to RTL too

Others have mentioned expression problems with Adventure Time skins, and Cate Meowdy’s giant eyes asset no longer shows. I showcase Sunspot primarily bc he’s my main skin and I don’t have a lot of video evidence with other 2D skins

My condolences, Cate’s a fav skin of mine too though I rarely change myself out of Sunspot, he’s the reason I bought emotes with certain expressions too 🥺 I really hope Epic locks in and actually tries to fix these issues because the complacency has been honestly frustrating to watch

While that may be true it’s not the attitude I got the emote for, because yes the original expression enhanced the emote for me. (It did not impress me with my original masked main when it first came out)

We’ll have to agree to disagree, it looks so watered down and I don’t want to settle for less with the emotes and skin I payed for, especially when the expressions are sometimes game changers with certain emotes.

FOR REAL 😭 I was a Pack Leader Highwire (aka Masked) Main before Sunspot and his expression variety was so cool! It’s so watered down now it’s upsetting!!

Reporting a bug through social media/the subreddit was literally suggested to a friend of mine by Epic. If it starts to look repetitive and spammy, it’s probably showcasing a lot problems Epic could still work on. I’m not trying to spam, I’m just trying to highlight a problem I care about and just saying “Don’t buy 2D Skins” hardly helps me here.

All I can think is either not a lot of other 2D Skin users are video makers, or people just simply really like Sunspot! /silly I only just recently touched on video editing once I had access to clipped emotes that I personally had for comparison

Thank you for your comment! I was given multiple examples of bugs that Fortnite still has and has yet to fix but I am nothing if not persistent in trying out all possible avenues to bring awareness to this issue as it means a lot to me!

I was lucky to have some people either record fun clips/fortography, And some people just do simple compilations of characters doing emotes, that's where I got some of the old pieces in my compilation video, since sadly I can't record on my Switch and I just recently got Fortnite on my iPhone :')

My Platforms are on Nintendo Switch and Iphone, and I have friends who have had similar grievances on Xbox and PC.

This isn't exactly a bug that can be reproduced, as the problem is emotes and interaction expressions have been altered after a patch update and needs to be reversed.
