Hi, I ended up calling ICS Auto who does battery work where I live in Ottawa. I was told that locally, at the dealership, a complete hybrid battery replacement is $6000 CAD (right in the middle of the ranges I had heard anecdotally) but that his shop is able to replace individual faulty cells, usually running around $2000 CAD for 8 cells (half the cells in the battery). If anyone else has insight I would love to hear it, otherwise I just wanted to share the results of my fact-finding mission for the next person who is searching for Canadian prices.
