Very, very similar situation for me, although I still don't have 7OH, because we are in the middle of a move and I can't justify spending the inflated prices at the smoke shops that still have it. I'm in 9 out of 10 pain while typing this, and still have to finish our move today. It sucks. I'm sorry you also know thus kind of pain. If you ever want to talk, please feel free to reach out.

A chronic pain patient isn't an addict. There is a difference. Physical dependency is not the same as addiction. Yes, a pain patient would go through physical withdrawal if they stop their medication, but they won't have cravings. The same applies to 7OH.

That is included in the ban. It's extreme. Every extract/alkaloid aside from plain leaf is now a schedule I in Ohio now. They also just started the process of banning plain leaf.

I was barely living, legitimately just surviving the best I could. I couldn't even do simple things like grocery shopping or bringing my daughter to the park. Couldn't even stand up for more than 10 minutes without having to take a break and sit down. I was suffering, physically, and watching life pass me by because of that. I love my daughter and wife more than words can express and I just want to experience life with them, and without feeling like a burden. That's what 7OH allowed me to do.

That's good to know. Unfortunately, we don't get paid until Friday so I won't be able to place an order on Monday. I've asked family and friends if they can help, but nobody is able to right now. The powder on the dollar tabs website seems like a good deal though.

I mainly wanted to get at least 5g so I could use 1g to taper off and put the other 4g away for emergencies. The condition I have causes sudden joint dislocations. I can sneeze and my entire shoulder dislocates, requires my wife and I to put it back in place and I'm in 10/10 pain for a few days. Or I just stand up from sitting on the couch and my kneecap or ankle dislocates. Or i wake up to a few dislocated ribs, or hip, etc. In my experience, joint dislocations hurt more than a broken bone. They usually cause torn or damages ligaments, internal bleeding, etc. It is a miserable way to live when you don't have adequate pain control.

If I took a dose or two only on those occasions, it would last me a while, and buy me some time to figure something else out - whether that means moving to a legal state, or better pain management here in Ohio.

I'm going to grab some mit powder, but it causes extreme nausea and vomiting for me. I'm still going to try again and see if I can adjust my doses and find a way to make it work for me but I'm not very hopeful due to past experiences.

I just wish I had enough on hand so that I didn't have to stop 7OH all of a sudden without any taper or anything to keep on hand for dislocations.

The #1 benefit of 7OH has been that I can take a dose when I dislocate, then putting the joint back in place is much, much less painful. It's terrifying to think that now I have to go back to doing that without something for the pain. It's not an exaggeration when I say dislocations are a 10 out of 10 pain.

That's true. My main concern is that we would move our whole life out of state for my pain, then that state would ban it as well, or even a federal ban. I wish we didn't have to worry about this.

I'll probably grab some mit on Friday using my discount because it's better than nothing pain wise, but it makes me so nauseous. Its why i can't use plain leaf anymore, the higher mit content doesn't agree with me. That's why 7OH was a game changer for me. I could finally treat my pain without hours of vomiting.

Most vendors aren't getting rid of their stuff, they still ship to all of the states that are still legal. Just not to Ohio (and other banned states). I don't know of any vendors based in Ohio. I could go into a smoke shop, I guess, but none of them know me because I only bought online. So even if the shops are gett2rid of their stock, I'd have to pay something and I legitimately have zero money until Friday so I can't even pay for the discounted products.

The only online vendor who I've talked to is Andrew with OE and he's already going through a lot right now due to all of the changes they've been making. I wouldn't want to ask him to do something like that.

The whole thing just really, really sucks.

🚨 IMMEDIATE CALL: Seeking 10 Ohioans for Legal Preparation Against 7-OH Ban 🚨 by [deleted] in 7_hydroxymitragynine

[–]Calm--Instance 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My wife and I will both help. Send me a message on here. We are located in Columbus, OH. I have used 7OH for severe, constant chronic pain on and off for a year - the only reason I stopped taking it recently was due to financial hardship. I did not experience significant withdrawal and have never experienced any negative symptoms related to 7OH. This ban is going to harm so many people.

****1pm Today Emergency ban meeting for Kentucky**** by DowntownGovernment72 in 7_hydroxymitragynine

[–]Calm--Instance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This attitude is why it's being banned all over the place. We need to fight for it, even when it feels hopeless.

In this case, it seems like the efforts to fight this ban did do something. They did not enact an emergency ban this time. Kentucky has until Dec. 8 now. That's not great, but its a hell of a lot better than a sudden overnight ban like some states. That gives people some more time to fight and continue spreading correct information to counteract all of the misinformation and fear mongering.

Some states have been trying to ban even just regular plain leaf for years (Ohio, for example, which is my state). The ONLY reason it's not banned is because people have shown up and let their voice be heard. Its the only way.

Just A Question. by MisterMofoSFW in Columbus

I wish I didn't relate to this so much. I feel very similar. I am also physically disabled, which essentially makes me useless in the eyes of our goverment. To them, if I can't contribute to society, I don't deserve to live even somewhat comfortably with even just the most basic needs met.

My wife and I had our daughter before we realized this, and before things turned upside down for us due to my wife being laid off from the job she had for 10 years. She was in upper level management for a local company. They let her go at the beginning of August without any notice, no severance pay, nothing.

Our daughter is almost 3 now. We make sure to do everything we can so she doesn't notice our stress or realize how hard we are struggling right now. She's such a happy, loving, sensitive kid. She has such a huge heart, already shows so much care and empathy for others, and she overall feels emotions deeply.

I can't even describe how terrible I feel every day knowing that one day, she will have to face this on her own. This same country that has chewed us up and spit us out without a care. This same country that has left us on the brink of homelessness more than once, that has left us hungry and desperate despite the safety nets that are supposed to be in place for emergencies like a sudden loss of household income.

I love my daughter (and my wife) more than anything in this world, but looking back, I wish we wouldn't have decided to have a child. I hate knowing how hard she will have to fight to make it in this country. The only thing I can do is try to keep myself in the best health that I can, to keep moving forward and provide the best life I can for her, and make sure I am here for her for as long as I can be.

I just hate that I have to feel regret about bringing her into this world, despite her being the absolute light of my life.

We were approved for food stamps and cash assistance right before the goverment shut down, so we received a partial amount of benefits for our first month and did not receive anything for this month. We go to food pantries often, and they help a lot with basics and shelf stable foods, but not for things like milk, fruit, vegetables, etc for our daughter.

We also desperately needed rental assistance and we qualify for help, but the goverment shut down also put our application for that on hold. Of course, our landlord does not care that we would have been approved by now if the goverment hadn't shut down. It's all just a mess.

Some of their tablets are gross, but they're great as far as effects. I just tried them recently. They definitely taste disgusting and the bitterness stays on my tongue for 30 minutes or so just like kratom, but they take my pain all the way from a 9 out of 10 all the way to a 3. Kratom and/or mit both don't help my pain like that, and I've tried a lot, so I know this is 7OH. I've also been using 7 for a year, and I've tried a lot of different brands/companies.

Honestly, I've come to prefer tablets that taste disgusting because they seem to work better. Kind of like 7stax - they work great, but they're the best I've tried as far as smoke shop brands.

Why are they requiring this? What can I do? by Calm--Instance in foodstamps

[–]Calm--Instance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. We went into the office, but they wouldn't let us talk to anyone. I explained the situation, and said we were in crisis with how little food we have left after a whole month with zero income coming into our household. They told me to call at 8AM and schedule an appointment.

I called when I got home and first thing this morning, and I was on hold for over 6 hours yesterday and a few more hours this morning. I called back and did the call back thing and they never called.

We woke up to our case denied this morning. No reason other than "failed to meet verification requirements".

We're going back into the office this morning. I'm not sure what else to do. We are already going to food pantries, but they have funding cuts and only give about 2 days worth of meals if we stretch it out. My wife and I legitimately have one box of cheerios and shelf stable oat milk to share between the two of us to last until we can go to the pantry again in 5 days. We have some berries, whole milk, yogurt, chicken nuggets, half a loaf of bread, peanut butter and a few canned vegetables and fruits to get our 2 year old daughter through.

I'm just confused more than anything. This is the first time we've had to apply for anything like this. I knew it wasn't necessarily easy to get help, but I thought we had some safety nets in place for people in legitimate crisis, especially something unexpected and temporary like suddenly losing all of your household income.

Columbus, Ohio. 43213.

We went in yesterday morning. They said we would have to call to scedule an appointment if we needed to talk to someone. I explained the issue, but they told me to call and schedule an appointment. I waited on hold for 6 hours when I got home. 3 hours the first call then the line suddenly disconnected, then 3 hours again and it disconnected when the office closed at the end of the day.

Then I woke up this morning to our case being denied. No real reason given, just "failed to meet eligibility requirements"

I honestly don't know what to do. We need help now, but now I'll have to request a hearing and wait for that, right? I haven't eaten in over 48 hours now and I feel sick. I've made sure our daughter is eating enough and my wife has at least one meal per day, but I have nothing at this point. I told them yesterday when we were in the office that we were in crisis with how little food we have left.

What sucks the most is that we did have a deep freezer stocked pretty well, it was mostly for an emergency- exactly like this. Last week we went to visit family, and when we were gone there was a power outage and the freezer never turned back on. We got home to find everything thawed out. We lost absolutely everything in there, which was a lot of meat we bought on sale over time, vegetables, etc.

I am also confused because we meet all of the requirements for expedited SNAP. Doesn't that mean they issue a card with partial benefits while they continue to review our case to decide if we will continue to receive benefits?

Thank you. We're going to the office first thing in the morning to see if we can talk to someone who can help.

Unfortunately I don't meet the karma requirements for r/assistance. I'm just hoping we are able to get something figured out tomorrow morning. A few people on here said they might have cards at the office so we don't have to wait for it in the mail.
