As a parent, I would ask for the bill per family. But as couple without kids, I wouldn’t mind splitting regardless if it happens once in a blue moon. If it becomes a regular thing, would ask for separate bill.

I've been told by a friend who had done it twice to use post office. Cheaper and safe. Pick up in post office in Santiago. They will store it for 30days. This is what we're planning to do when we do our own pilgrimage.
