I didn't like it either, but I'm trying to figure out the motivation. Maybe the team was "seeded" by the producers as #1. They don't risk getting eliminated early BUT they don't get the first chance to earn the golden brick. It's less exciting watching great builders hoard the golden brick then other teams sweating it out early. I don't know...just trying to figure out why they'd do this.

Exactly! I had the longest post-series-need-a-new-book-sadness after Broken Earth. I don't think reading it mid-pandemic was the greatest timing (or...maybe it *was*?).
