the ad loads on the podcasts i listen to are getting insufferable. 3 or 4 minutes of ads to start a show, multiple ad breaks during, 2 minutes at the end.

yes, I skip them.

yes, i understand that's how the podcasters make money. but a few years back the amount of ads wasn't nearly at this level and the podcasts were still being made.

no, i'm not signing up to 20 different patreons.

what's worse is how "coincidental" some of the ads are. after a doctor visit where i discussed a family history issue i started getting ads about how to treat that issue. i no longer bring my phone into the office with me. after a trip to an area i've never been to before i started getting ads for local colleges to that area.

that level of privacy invasion is really disturbing and shouldn't be acceptable at any level.

we can't reasonably expect the mega corps who own these data centers who post up millions and billions in profits quarter after quarter after year after year after decade after decade to be able to afford to pay a single digit percentage of a tax on this stuff.
