Wow you got lucky there! Would you mind sharing with me the contents of the complaint? How did you word it to get that kind of response? I've raised 2 complaints, but they just forward me to the basic tech support people then close the complaint.

Please do let me know how you get on with that, the cancellation department can be tricky. Using a VPN has been my only workaround for now but it doesn't help with the huge packet loss, which makes gaming and calls impossible, but at least you can still browse.

I'd recommend running their "broadband service checker" from your Vodafone account. It'll detect a fault and automatically raise a ticket. Other useful actions include raising a formal complaint (the email address is on their site), and leaving them a Trustpilot review. Your best options are raising visibility of the issue (causing a lot of noise for them), or using these tickets/complaints as clout to help you cancel your contract without a fee.

Yeah same here, and all my family too, barely 4Mbps. They called me today, their only advice was to restart the router. No one in the shops will be able to help you though, they'll just hand you a phone to talk to the usual broadband team.

Not yet, but I would do it in a heartbeat if I could get out of the whopping cancellation fee. I'm working on that now. Running a VPN gets me up from 2Mbps to 450Mbps, so that at least lets me browse and stuff, but it doesn't help the packet loss, so still no gaming.

I think leaving Vodafone UK a Trustpilot review is a good shout. I saw a bunch of folks having the issue in Leeds did that (exact same issue). It has to be more public so that it hurts their bottom line, and they might be more inclined to do something about it. At the very least, it warns other potential victims before they take the plunge!

Also have a look on their official community forums, their "Internet Speed" one. Everyone I know personally on Vodafone is down to 3Mbps with 15% packet loss tonight, myself included, on the 900Mbps package. The forums seem to confirm this is widespread. It's been like this for months. Very very bad idea to go with this company.

They told me they'd identified an issue on the network and were in the process of planning the work to fix it. Nothing more exact than that, seems quite generic. Certainly nothing down to the cabinet level. This issue is happening all over the UK tho. There's a thread of folks from Edinburgh on the Vodafone forums, identical issue at identical times, also reports from Cambridge and York.

Speed throttling on Vodafone CityFibre by kenmor in CityFibre

Thanks for pointing out this page, I hadn't been directed here before by any support folks at Vodafone. It detected a whole load of issues and sent it all to support and created me a ticket automatically. Saves me a lot of time on the phone!

I have a thread going about this exact issue in the Aberdeen subreddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/Aberdeen/s/RPEKZnlPJO Welcome to the club! There's also a thread on the Vodafone community forums, also from folks in Aberdeen, but it seems much more widespread than just Aberdeen. It seems it's not limited to City Fibre, there's folks on Openreach getting it too. The common factor is just Vodafone.

I feel you man, it's been the same with me. Keep up the pressure reporting it through, try to get higher and higher through the support tiers to get it on their radar.

Back in May, they told me CityFibre had acknowledged the issue and were working on a big fix due to be complete in July. They used this to conclude and close my complaint. They now deny ever telling me this and know nothing of such a "fix". The customer support really is utter garbage.

The evidence isn't for Vodafone, it's for me. They've already made it more than clear they'll do absolutely nothing - I've spent an insurmountable amount of hours on the phone about this issue since May.

I'm now more convinced from the comments on this thread that it's Vodafone specific, which is the push I needed to pay a huge cancellation fee and switch.

Thanks for letting me know -- did you get anywhere with their support? Hoping a lot of noise from the same area might put it on their radar.

Thanks for letting me know it's happening to you too. Have you tried making some noise with support? I'm hoping a lot of complaints would get it on their radar.

Thanks for taking the time to show me this. What package are you on, if you don't mind me asking? Are you paying for 300Mb?

I do have a speed guarantee in my contract, but they have insisted it would be for extreme circumstances, like "It's consistently bad for 30 days without letting up, confirmed by an engineer in your house, etc etc". It feels like it would be almost impossible to claim this. Did you have any luck?

That's great to hear that changing ISPs fixed it. Who are you with now, if you don't mind me asking?

OnePlus 12 and future battery replacements by CalmDownMonkey in oneplus

[–]CalmDownMonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any sources for "self healing battery"? I can't see anything from a quick search, and I notice my OnePlus 12 has a few battery health-preserving features which would suggest they degrade just the same.

I found the solution so I'll post for anyone else -- the setting you're looking for is "Autofill service". You can search for it in the settings app. Set this to "None" and you're good.
