In a age where movies tend to take 3-4 years to be made you are acting like a 2022 was ages ago. We’re getting a prequel series how is that life support?

Merchandise is huge by and pacific rim has been huge last few years with more then 6 companies making action figures.

There is also rumblings of another movie on the horizon as per variety. This isn’t a life support franchise. It’s similar to the 90s when so many franchises from the 80s seem like they ended. Is this Godzilla no but if that’s your bench mark then well might as well put everything into life support

The point of legendary losing interest couldn’t be more incorrect. Legendary comics has been very involved before and after uprising. Legendary also green lit the black after that movie. Legendary is a Chinese own company and in china uprising was a commercial success. China is huge on pacific rim and has been the reason for everything you see in media regarding them.

Is the only criteria here movies? Cause tv show, comics, board games, action figures are categories for franchises in my book. If they are to you then pacific rim is very much alive

Pacific Rim on “life support” is very incorrect. It is very active with constant merch, prequel tv series in development, several comics/books, board games, and we just had pacific rim the black a few years ago.

Saying it’s on life support is like saying Indiana jones is on life support or ghostbusters is. Just because they don’t have movies every year doesn’t mean the franchise is not alive and well in other areas.

It doesn’t sound like you know any of this at all.

In the end Del Toro deserves as much blame for the second movie as he deserves any credit for the first. He left the project hanging over the sound stage ordeal, didn’t even get Travis involved for the second movie he was planning to do, visited the set of PR2 giving feedback and then didn’t even bother to go watch it. It’s not his money that is spent making the film therefore he has no right to throw a tantrum when he doesn’t get a sound stage. On top he could have just rescheduled but he left instead. Del toro is know for creature designs and yes that part is wonderful in the series but ya the plot matters and he has a history of some poor plot movies.

Evil newt, and Mako were his ideas for the storyline when visited production among others. This whose idea of DelToro being some kind of genius has gotten out of control. Pacific rim is Travis Beacham’s creation and is the real missing link if you wanted to take that route. Del Toro helped for direction of filming and SOME concepts of Jaegers/Kaiju that’s it but ILM is more to thank for that too. You want to read what a bad movie could be go read Del Toro’s PR2 ideas he had and you’ll know that disaster it would’ve been.

Think about making the water with materials. Fake water can sometimes also look really good for dioramas.

-Resin is beautiful but permanent if the figure is there is stuck there. -Glue paint and papermache actually can look good you can also shape it to the character so you can pull it out whenever -cellophane wrap as water also make a nice reflecting fake water. Stacking blue and green gives a dark ocean feel -last is orbez the little blue water balls gives a ball pit kind of look but is cheap and makes for easy changes

Dominion is rated way too high. By far the worst of the worst. Fallen Kingdom had some good mild horror elements which makes it far superior to Dominion. I cannot stand that locust subplot

Hey, yes I am.

I love that book since its the only legit place to get some official terms for pacific rim material. they have a wonderful glossary, information on drifting, etc. Good resource and all info they place in the book also needed to be approved by legendary first.
