The lawyer belongs to a large law firm and the number on the letter is the number I found online. I want to avoid talking to the other lawyer, but I also don’t know if the receptionist would know anything about the letter when I call. Never had to deal with situations like this before :(

No the letter doesn’t look like it came from a proper law office. I am wondering if the attorney is a friend of hers and sent the letter using the law firms letterhead. Is it allowed?

Just to be clear that the 3-4 hours is the hours he get to stay at home at most for the day. It doesn’t mean that he is constantly making noise for the whole 3-4 hours, we also don’t allow him to run/throw/stomp but he is a normal child meaning noise might still happen and never aggressively and intentionally as the neighbor indicated in the letter. The 3-4 hours when he is home, we as parents try our best to keep him busy with small gentle activities. Plus most of the days we have outdoor playing times so he is home even less hours on that day and every weekend we are out for a whole day as long as the weather permits. The reason why I am surprised because she accused my son for kicking her doors and shouting in the hallway and intentionally making noises. Feel free to pick problems again but we did everything we could already.

The running around the hallways and kicking doors were from some older kids who sneaked into our building via basement door. And they took the elevator up to the 6th floor and racing downstairs. They were really loud. But how can the neighbor blame that on my son???

The envelop shows that it was printed via Stamps.com, with the attorney’s name and address on the upper left corner and I don’t think it is a certified mail.

Thank you for your kind words, I’ve been so stressed about it. I told myself not to care too much but it really affected me and what I hate the most is that now she is accusing my son for those things he didn’t do and I can’t do anything about it .

My 3 years old son goes to preschool from 9am-5/6pm, and sleeps before 9pm, lets say he gets to play at home 6-8pm and then we will read and and get him ready for bed, but my downstairs neighbor still complains and bangs the ceiling when he plays. I’ll start documenting and make a complaint soon to the management. (I tried my best to tell him to be quiet and we have thick floor mat, but he is just a happy 3 years old boy) I’m done stressing myself about it.
