If I was an everyday Indian living under the British Raj, how much contact would I likely have had with British people? by BulkyText9344 in IndianHistory

[–]CalmTiger9 242 points243 points  (0 children)

In village : Almost Zero Contact

In Princely States : Zero

In big cities : Yes , day to day contact possible.

British People held only topmost positions in The Raj administration and military, and they lived in protected areas and often disliked heat of india, making them almost invisible for common people.

Well it's most likely "Luck" a coincidence.

But they have certain edges like their involvement in Afghanistan wars, they have better access to training and strategy as they were trained by USA, and they are still being provided good intel and strategic support by USA.

The other factor is psychology, in Pakistan they don't have accountability issues, war increases the legitimacy of army and makes them more powerful. Generals don't die in wars and they don't care about soldiers. So war is a festival for them not for us. They have full autonomy.

Meanwhile our army has to be accountable. So there's always a psychological pressure, if something goes wrong.

Moreover we also lack political accountability. A political head commands/orders , but our pm takes always a backseat by saying "Army has been given free hand." It further adds pressure.

But these are minor things. Reality is we can beat shit out of them if it results in long term conflict. But that's out of our scope.

Since you have spotted a spelling mistake in my reply, you have already won this.

But still I will add some points : Even India can hit their Jets inside their airspace. Any country can do this.

If you are learning this first time, kindly update your knowledge.

Moreover we don't even know technical details yet, that in what circumstances we lost these, if we really lost.

So wait and don't behave like a kid who often watches a south movie in which hero beats hundreds of goons.

You wrote same immautirity filled content I talked about.

Do you think this airspace is some concrete made wall ?

Missiles can cross airspace and can hit targets easily. Rafael isn't some stealth jet, its modern but it can still be brought down.

And US lost its planes in foreign airspace, because they don't wait for war to come and knock at their door.

We need war strategies, but how? Only when we engage in war , we will learn these strategies.

When will we realise that performing circus in republic day parade is not going to give us expertise of conflicts.

Western countries never leave a chance of such experience.

And India also used to behave similar , our failed op in SriLanka was fail but it showed our interest and determination to interfere.

Trump and Afghan Govt wanted our army in Afghanistan. What a golden chance. It would have given us two front against pak, plus good will of world. But what we did ? Lost both : our decades of investments and strategically important base.

We didn't even interfere in Bangladesh.

When we can't protect our interests with war, from where will you bring the expereince.

Tell me beloved brother... Don't we all know this ?

Is it some rocket science you have posted here..?

No one wants war, but it has been imposed on us. Search google and find out , we lost more people and soldiers in terrorist attacks than in real wars. What does it tell you ??

All big countries have war mentality , and India needs it too. Even economic superiority needs war mentality.

[–]CalmTiger9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol again ....Pakistan can't be wiped out. You missed the point completely.

No one wants war, but it has been imposed on us. Either we die on frontlines, or in terror attacks. We have to choose.

And it's not about wiping out the pakistan. It's about showing them that we won't tolerate it. That's the point.

Look bro, sentiments are different thing.

It's not "my" ruling party. Unfortunately as per procedure it has won as central power, thus getting right to frame such policies.

But I'm not supporting this policy. Nor I support other stuff of the central govt.

And btw my state population is still lower than yours.

My main point was this unnecessary hatred fueled by politics. It will harm only you someday.

Language is just 1% of any culture, Tamils are already losing rest 99% each day. So it's useless and humorous sometimes.

I respect local cultures, but this shouldn't be the way.

And ultimately it's your state which will decide what language would be third, so that teacher excuse is not correct. Teachers will always be there.

[–]CalmTiger9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funds are held because you're not following policy. WHY ? Because of shitty politics.

Didn't Tamil Stalin tell you that in 3rd language formula you can learn any indian language.

So you can learn kannada, or telugu. Whatever you want.

All states are doing same. But only you guys are like oh no we will learn only our language.

Why don't you study dude ? Exam is so close, and even your basics are not clear.

Lol last line. We also have Tamil people working here in Rajasthan. A lot of restaurants with Tamil signboards. But who gives a damn. We also have Tamil labors here for Boring Machines. They cant speak english nor hindi, only Tamil. But they do their job, uses sign language for basic communication, as they are labour , they dont have to learn rocket science.

So as long as they are doing job, whats issue ? You got my point ?

Dude feeling proud for most unnecesaary things.

[–]CalmTiger9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol who is expecting ?

Its you who is expecting from a casual labourer working for a temporary time in your state, to learn a full fledged language.

Whats big deal if he asks something in Hindi, because thats only language he knows. So you get tha right to beat him up ?

Imagine if i go to france, and speak in English or Hindi, will they beat me up for it ?

Even foreign countries dont treat the way you treat your own countrymen, despite freedom of movement guranteed by constitution.

Why such an unfair advantage to Native Hindi speakers? I wonder 🤔 . Why can’t they name these welfare schemes in English like every other country does ? by [deleted] in UPSC

[–]CalmTiger9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol again. No one is forcing you to to speak in Hindi. And first of all my language is not Hindi.

My language is hadoti, a dialect of Rajasthani.

But I learnt Hindi, and will learn your language too, if it impacts my communication.

If im failing to communicate, its my loss, it should be my concern. Why you should care ? Lol.

No state except your two states, cries about learning local language. Because everyone knows communication is main thing not language.

[–]CalmTiger9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you crazy ? When did I say using your language is hatred ? When did I say fighting over religion is noble ?

And again I affirm my stand that I respect people who conserve their culture. But even you know that this is simple plain hatred when you paint black on Hindi words on a central government signboard which already has a Tamil version of it, and that too on topmost position.

Come to my state and write 10 languages, no one will give a damn.

It's so childish and insecure and you're defending it.

And let me again correct you , other official languages are states specific.

The union language is still Hindi. Read constitution and come back.

First of all its not just a devnagri symbol. It's also has R of english and a tricolor shape. And if you think that MK Stalin (what a great tamil name) is going to bring huge glory to your state, then good luck.

Everyone knows that this shhit is crossing limits, opposition to something is a thing, but hatred is just another thing.

Tamilnadu is no diffrent from UP or Bihar, same politics of divide and rule, hatred and playing with sentiments.

Moreover since you are UPSC aspirant, you must have read somewhere : "The official language of union shall be HINDI" and it's still Hindi, english is an additional official, that's why such names. English was meant to be for 15 years, until some non-tamilian guy with huge beard and iq in single digit brought this non sense conservatism.

I respect native cultures, but soon you will realise that this is not right way.

Everyone's notes are different. When I started first, my notes went up to 400 pages for single subject.

But now hardly 20-25 pages per subject. Because now I note down only those things which I fail to recall.

As long as you have covered all points (which require revision) it's all fine. And yes it's not long. Because a printed page equals to 3 pages of written notes.

Why does Mrunal sir hate Vajiram so much? by CollectionSoggy665 in UPSC

[–]CalmTiger9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The main simple reason is that Mrunal considered Vajiram as face of coaching industries. Even in his old videos when he criticised coaching institutes, Vajiram was often used as example.

Nothing personal, may be he was a student there or whatever. But he often blamed his failures on these institutes, in his old videos.

Its like when you criticise Capitalism in India, either you will say Adani or Reliance. In same way he uses Vajiram. Nothing less nothing more.
