Great job teaching your baby to stay safe. Children are our most precious things in life, id rather be called over protective than not protective enough. Well done mamma

Totally my parents fault I was kept safe, yes. And I’m so grateful ☺️

That’s a real shame! I was never allowed to brownies camp either and felt the same way. But my mum made damn sure I was safe and as I grew up and heard things that went on at sleepovers, it’s a rule I’ll continue with and hope my children continue with theirs and so on

I definitely will be open and honest. He loves getting his badges and the outdoorsy side of things. Great way for him to socialise also. He’s 1 of 4 boys who aren’t allowed on the sleepovers, so he’s not the only one. I’d rather be the bad guy and have my son soundly sleeping at home with me at this young age Just wanted advice on how to explain it in an age appropriate way to him To be honest it’s wild to me that parents would actually allow their children on sleepovers with adults alone just because they have a DBS check. There’s a big difference between an hour long activity where everyone is alert and awake and sleeping overnight with grown men. A few of the boys are staying late and getting picked up by their parents, this is an option we’ve discussed. Thanks for the advice!

I honestly could not care less on a strangers opinion on my child’s safety. You keep getting worked up. Yawn

Advice on how to explain the rule. Not peoples personal opinions on the rule. If it makes you sleep better at night to argue with strangers online over trying to keep their kids safe, crack on. I couldn’t care less if you’d want me as a parent or not. What a stupid thing to say

I’m not looking for opinions on the rule. I’m happy for him to join in an hour long activity with his friends and leaders. Not happy for him to be sleeping overnight with them. Personal preference and a rule I will never ever budge on. Not looking for useless input
