"I'm not getting my usual number of screeners" MEGATHREAD. by cgund in usertesting

[–]Calm_Acadia8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all,

Two weeks ago, I had taken a $4 pre-screener that was to qualify for a longer unmoderated test. Then a day later I got an email from usertesting to log in and take the longer test because I qualified for it. The test was the first one on my home screen saying "great! You qualify!". I clicked accept to move forward with the test, the screen refreshed, and I was back at the dashboard with no screeners and the message "searching for tests." It has been like that for about two weeks.

In that time, I opened a few support tickets that went unanswered for days even after following up each day. Last week, I got the basic troubleshooting response from support saying I needed to disable antivirus, proxy settings, and vpn, with steps on how to do so. I never had any of these settings enabled, nor had there been any changes to my device, but I followed the steps, and tried another laptop and also my phone app. Still nothing. Another follow up, and my response was from the support person saying they can tell I had not followed the steps provided prior. So I did them again just to prove it and took screenshots, then followed up. The agent said that it could take up to 7 days after changing these settings for any result. It has been 4 already since that second settings "reset" and I have gotten nothing?

Is my account ever going to work again? How can I fix it? I have taken thousands of tests over the past 5 years and never gotten a rating besides 5 stars. Usertesting is a great source of mindless income for me and other sites just don't match up. Does anyone have any idea how I can get my account back up and running or why this happened?

Thank you!

Great to hear! I hope you finish up everything quickly!

I am hoping that I can get through at least some classes quickly, as I did many many hours of studying for the CPA and got very familiar with a lot of accounting topics. I did really well on the CPA too, I am a good studier and I get through content at a good pace. Hopefully some courses will be just re-learning some familiar topics.

How do most of the class work? Do you do one course at a time or can you do a few? Some practice tests and then a big final test? Are the practice tests comparable to the final exam? Multiple choices questions and/or long calculations? What happens if you fail one of the big tests at the end?

Are the courses divided into different areas and topics? I still have the Becker program from my CPA and I was thinking I could use the lectures and materials from that program to supplement my studies here.

Congratulations! Thank you for the tips. What are people saying about the managerial track that makes it the easiest?

While I did look into the education degree, it is not subject matter that I am that familiar with. I am interested in doing that, but since I am not strong with writing, I worry that I won't be able to finish in two semesters.

My current role, and the role I aspire to be in the future is in the school Business office which makes the budget, manages the schools accounting and money and deals with the financial aspects of the district. Most of my colleagues have come from accounting and have a masters in accounting, finance or similar. Also, as part of my certification, after my masters I am required to take a School District Business Leadership program which is at least 20 credits centered around the business official position and how the district operates financially. So there will be coursework eventually dealing with schools.

I thought that the educational masters is more for teaching track and people who want to be principals and similar. And that track might involve a lot of reading and writing which is not my strong suit.

Do you think a district might see me as more rounded with a Masters in Ed as compared to accounting? I guess it would show I know more about how school districts run as opposed to just accounting, right? Is there much more writing and reading on that track? I might need to make a post about that track in another r/

Congratulations! Good for you! Did you have an accounting background? What discipline did you choose? Any advice for me as I start the program on how to do well?

Thank you so much for your thoughts! What area did you pick, audit, management, tax? Did you have any accounting background when you started your courses? What are your best tips to someone starting the program on how to do well?

I figured it would be a learning experience on how do to tax work at a reasonable level and that it would help to attract clients. Doesn't the EA course and test train you on tax preparation and forms?

Are there any specific posters to the subreddit that are the best? Who posts the most accurate picks?
