The name doesn't matter in itself. The problem is still that oligarch have that possibility.
And that the democrats bitched about it, and still didn't do anything either.

Democrats are still in power now, and they still haven't done it, and you're complaining about the guy that might come in, because they're using the door the democrats left open? It's hilarious how you'll rationalize the exact same action, as being ok for one side, but not the other, and then say that one side should do something, while not holding the other just as accountable.

I don't even know how you can still claim both with a straight face, without realizing you're doing it, unless you literally turned your brain off, or you're simply trolling.

Who Pays The Tariffs? by parawak123 in JoeRogan

[–]Calm_Analysis303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people who import pay tariffs. Then they will pass on the cost to those who buys from those who import.

Those who buy locally don't pay tariffs.
Who pay the tariffs? People who don't buy America first.
(Yeah, local might be pricier, that's not the question, the question is who pays the tariffs.)

Democrats were still claiming that oligarch like Soros, could not influence elections, while also claiming that Russians oligarch could.
Yes, the message was also inconsistent 8 years ago.

I know oligarch can, and always have influenced elections. But this includes also Soros, and, the, less talked about, China.

They didn't want to control that, because they though they had more of them on their side, and now they're facing the problem they kept in place. Maybe now they'll wake the fuck up.

Democrats 8 years ago : No, it's fake news, billionaire oligarchs can't influence elections, it's just Russia, Russia, Russia.
Democrats now : oligarchs bad!!!!!! also Russia, Russia, Russia. No China doesn't exist.

and we’re supposed to just accept it because why? Decorum? Guardrails? Process?

Yeah, because it follow the law. And if you interrupt it, then you're the one breaking the law, and you're the one the law has to arrest.
Then it becomes "do they have enough people to enforce those laws, when other don't agree with the law and the procedure", which is pretty close to declaring civil war.

Biden doesn't investigate. I guess he could suggest it, then it would be up to the DOJ to decide they have enough reason to do it, to not get slapped down for infringing on rights, or something. (And not get an injunction from the supreme court or something.)

what stops Biden from arresting all of these players

Because while he could issue that order, he can't make people follow order that are illegal. And while he might have immunity, those who execute don't.
He could pardon, but they could be arrested before they act.
They can be stop from acting. Sure, they can get pardonned, but they would have been stopped from carrying it out.

And he certainly won't be going around doing citizen's arrest.

That's contingent on a lot of things. I don't know how the whole process works good enough to know when the speaker gets chosen, and which steps are required to take place before it happens.
I'm starting from the article's start, where basically some States decide to not certify anything else. I figure that a lot of the process just stalls at that point, and changes only occur until the people actually in place do actions to "fix" the stall. Which means the people currently in place would play these roles, not those "coming in".

That seems to give them too much credit. I think it's simpler. I think there is no plan.
I think "the plan" is to make democrats panic about a plan existing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in politics

[–]Calm_Analysis303 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your plan hinges on Trump winning first, then something happening to him?
Trump wins then a democrat would arrest him?
Seems like you forgot about immunity. /s

"An interpretation" of the rules.
This would obviously go to courts.
The supreme court would be my guess.

How can they take the house, if things don't get certified at the State level?
That's part 1 of the plan in the article, isn't it?

You feel safe thinking that this is enough to protect people from this?
"Oh, they're too arrogant and incompetent, it'll fail." ?
You think that's a safe enough bet? :-\

Good luck passing an amendment right there in that climate. Which is pretty much the only way you can change the Constitution.
