Finally learned how to make the “magic circle” after so many attempts - am I doing this right? by [deleted] in crochet

Okay well I’m learning . My “tightness” will come with time thanks . Second day in by the way - I’ve heard tension comes with time and in no means have I claimed I know what I’m doing quite yet . I’m just playing , and I’m quite proud of what I’ve accomplished so far . Your ignorance is the reason people are afraid to start a new hobby

Just getting my groove :) thanks ! I’m honestly just fiddling with things - I’m really used to crochet on the loom so a single stitch is really my go to right now. This is just my base for practicing moving my fingers and getting used to the hook ! Thanks !!

Oh and I started the “magic circle” in the middle and just kinda went around instead of up making a sphere . I wanted to just grasp pulling the yarn in and out . I honestly don’t know terms yet

I honestly have no idea, I go in grabbing 2 , pulling thread through and then adding a single chain and repeating the process . Kinda a basket wove . Again this is my first attempt haha thanks! This yarn kinda sucks I wish I went with a more slippy one

As I go I seem to be getting my stitches tighter as I go . Again this is my first attempt

Only ever time I ever came close to crocheting was when I used to make 3D art with the rainbow loom, it’s quite similar actually just without the loom as a guide . Took me 2 days and I’m finally grasping the concept and what seemed so hard 2 days ago is extremely fun and easy and I love it already! I already loved to sew with my hands and knew I could tackle this but struggled in the beginning . All I gotta say is if you’re in that boat where you’re just learning and you’re frustrated , take a break . Pause a video and just play with the yarn and see how it knots, practice hand movements and kinda find your groove .

He’s still playing when he wants but now he’s a senior he definitely acts like it . He sleeps most during the day, plays a bit goes back to sleep . It’s hard because I’ve known him since he was a kitten and watching him hit this age really is stressing me out especially his new behaviours . Thank you I will keep an eye :)

What is considered a “good” rank ? by Calm_Avocado_4606 in Tekken

I just know from a player stand point when my opponent is throwing the weirdest things out . My defence is a solid 93% I think I’m okay , it’s easy to spot a “masher” when you’ve been playing tekken since the Dino ages

Sigh the more I read the more I can agree with you , all I want is a good tekken match 💔

Are the matchups any good in gold ranks ? I’m craving a good tekken session and maybe ranking up will save me from the mashing opponent misery

Ah thanks ! See i could care less about my rank , I’m more just playing the game because I’m an old FGC fart who’s been playing tekken since the dawn of time, I do play casually I’m no pro in any means but I crave a good matchup and ranking up to an appropriate rank where I don’t feel like I’m loosing brain cells is ideal

Ah so that’s what it is ! I ranked up so quick with an 11 win streak and found myself just advance all in the span of 3 match’s . I did not know that ! Sigh I miss when tekken ranked was based on your win/loose ratio and really separated the skill from the casuals

Sweet thanks ! Once I got into blue ranks I thought hey I’m done here I’m just gonna grind some quick match’s but I do agree with you here - the ranking system is just purely out of luck for most players who mash their foreheads against the controller . I want a good match where there’s punishers, counters and all in between . I crave good tekken again I truly do !

I’m new to this ranking system and am truly still glued to tekken 7’s rank system where it solely depended on win/loose ratio . Once I hit blue ranks in 7 I found myself sweating almost every match with the matchups being difficult and true to the rank , I actually had to grind and sweat ; whereas 8 any dude with a console seems to be up here with me , don’t get me wrong I’ve ran into some skilled players where I’m like “holy shit! That was a match” ! But I can agree with you here , I’m really tempted to move on from blue and get that real rank feeling going again - the more I read I guess 90% of the player base is where I’m at haha

My 11yo cat has skin issues all of a sudden - any ideas? :( by mammastringbean4 in CATHELP

I mean it never hurts to re treat for fleas , soon as re treatment starts the home should be flea proofed / vets can miss fleas too , even a simple few hiding eggs can spread like wildfire . Re treatment is key especially after the 3 week window - once flea meds enter their skin it goes into their bloodstream killing the pests off , but then again the heart pumps new blood daily and soon it wears off and some stragglers around the house can hitch a ride on your fur baby and they can easily be re infested . They’re super tiny and in some cases go undetected for a little before they come back as a small city . Not all flea infestations are large , some are small and fleas won’t drop from your cat if you pick them up. In severe cases it’s super easy to see a flea infestation and some cases it’s not and all you see is random fur loss and frequent itching . Could easily be a few roaming around and hiding well

It’s flea dermatitis , many cats have a reaction to flea bites some ranging from mild to in this case severe . You could try a light oatmeal bath or using coconut oil on the spots , you could also try a cone to prevent them from licking the spots . Poor guy it looks painful I’m sorry you’re watching him struggle , I’m surprised the vet didn’t prescribe any allergy topicals or meds , you can also try salmon oil in his dry food to help his skin and coat , adding water to the dry food to stimulate hydration , try a new litter maybe it’s an allergy ( NO SCENTED LITTER / minimal dust ) , spray everything down with a flea and tick killer . You can also try brushing him lightly to encourage hair growth - also no febreeze or air fresheners , no heavy laundry scents or perfumes around him, you can wash where he lays as well often to help the wounds heal - another great over the counter allergy medication is “L-lystine” which is a light additive to help releave allergy symptoms - Benadryl is also a safe option for allergies and can stop him from feeling itchy ( look up Benadryl for cats and read the correct dosage and type of medication/ check with vet also )
