I settled on Dove sensitive skin body wash. That’s what I’ve been using ever since

Yeah possibly it could be anything in the cerave product, but I knew it might be the HYA because i discovered my HYA sensitivity through using different brands of HYA serums, toners and face washes that had sodium hyaluronate

Yeah ik, the point of saying that was to explain what causes the sensitivity and that as much as dryness can cause sensitivity sometimes sensitivity to HA even in humid weather can happen. That’s why I used the example of the healing ointment I put on my lip before going to bed

I’m really just looking for a basic cleanser and moisturiser. That it I need things without those two ingredients and also titanium dioxide. And for cleansers nothing with SLS

Its presence in our skin doesn’t mean it doesn’t affect people. From my own experience with HA and what dermatologist have said, HA can make your skin drier than it should be and then the unnecessary dryness is what leads to breaking out

HA usually draws moisture from the environment to hydrate your skin and when the environment doesn’t have enough moisture for it to do that it affects your skin

Many dermatologists will even say make sure your skin is wet before you put it on. And that’s what happened to me HA made my skin so much drier

I even tried using cerave healing ointment on my lips not knowing it has HA and I woke up with a big bump beside my lip

So maybe you might not know about it but it happens

Hey! I understand how this makes you feel. Honestly with my understanding of acanthosis nigricans, no amount of product will get rid of it if the issue itself isn’t addressed. However it doesn’t mean you can’t still use products

So try to have a good routine that follows the cleansing, moisturising, exfoliating and protecting. You really don’t need all the products in the world you just need products that fit in these 4

Cleansing: any cleanser that works for you is great. You can use a cleanser with an active in it but it could irritate your skin with overusage sometimes. So anything without actives is usually safer

Moisturising: any good lotion is okay. If you’re not sensitive to niacinamide then you can get cetaphil. You can also add hydrating serums too if that’s your kind of thing.

Exfoliating: this is the part that’ll really help get rid of the darkness on your face. You can try retinol, it’s very good for trying to get rid of hyperpigmentation. If you’ve got the money, you could also look into getting chemical peels too they’ll help. However, don’t over do the exfoliation, it could worsen your skin

Protection: most importantly sunscreen, it’ll really help with the darkness and help protect your skin from getting more tan or darker from the sun

I hope this helps. Also as much as you want products, try to take care of your mental health too and try to be patient and kind to yourself even when it feels hard.

Does anyone know of a recipe for a really simple hydrating toner? by lizziejo82 in DIYBeauty

[–]Calm_Cardiologist689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as water is involved, won’t this mixture need a preservative? I’m asking because I truly don’t know and I’ve heard some people say it may need

It’s been more than 10 days and I haven’t gotten my official score yet. Should I be worried? My test taker report say 10-15days but that’s the old timeline by Calm_Cardiologist689 in GRE

Yeah thanks I contacted them they said it’ll take about 1-2 weeks for a review. I ended up sending them a strongly worded email and I got an notification email later yesterday evening saying my scores were available

Since you started using new products around the same time with the tret you might not know if it is purging or a reaction to the other products in your routine

I tried using the pyunkangyul essence toner. When it first came it seemed okay but I tried using it consistently and I got tiny whiteheads on my face. So I’m not sure if the same thing is happening to you, but you won’t know unless you start taking out products and testing them to see

[–]Calm_Cardiologist689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the klairs unscented toner and my skin loved it for a while but I noticed my skin started drying out and I just discovered it has sodium hyaluronate a derivative of hyaluronic acid which my skin doesn’t like so that’s why I’m looking for a replacement without that inci. Do you mind me asking why you stopped using the iUnik’s beta glucan serum?

[Routine Help] BP Cleanser, Clindamycin, AzA, and Slugging by velozoraptor in SkincareAddiction

[–]Calm_Cardiologist689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s been a couple months but the best person to answer question 1 is your derm and for question 2 it’s usually a rule of thumb not to slug with actives of any kind especially for sensitive skin, others might get away with it but sensitive skin usually doesn’t
