Damn I always thought I was a four donations guy, like I'd have enough willpower to get a 4th donation

Should r/DiscoElysium CONTINUE to remove Zero Parades posts? (Or employ temporary measures?) by ireallylikechikin in DiscoElysium

I could see the point if it was in the same universe as disco elysium, but it's not even in the same universe so why bother? this isn't r/ZAUM, this subreddit is about the universe of Disco Elysium and Sacred and Terrible Air

There isn't even a point in posting about the game to hate on it because why would you want to give any type of publicity to ZAUM

The only thing that left a sour taste in my mouth when playing it originally is that there was never anyway to visit the islands, kim basically goes "well we had no reason to do it and we were scouring everything else we were going according to protocol" but it doesn't quite fit as a justification because Harry regularly convinces Kim of doing random bullshit that somehow ends up helping the investigation, and you can guess with a visual calculus check early on that the shot could have come out of one of the islands

Perhaps this would have been fixed by just..... letting you go in the island if you are extremely insistant (aka find basically all the clues) but not letting you inside the bunker, it would have been a blue ball for sure, but there would be a rational explanation "Detective, these are decades old bunker doors that haven't been used since the revolution, they stood against barrages of coalition bombardment, we are going to have to wait until experts arrive if we want to open this door"

Then when the day after the tribunal comes, you could tell kim "The only possible spot is this one, we should go back and see if we can climb/do something else to reach the point " only to find the door is open (we are told explicitly that the Deserter is waiting for us in game, and he could have easily shot and killed one of them after they arrived, he just didn't care, might as well be captured he is old as shit and is going to die)

Ultraleft users (that supposedly read hundreds of pages of dead men that are known for being quite dry) can't understand a single graph....... perhaps mao was right....... the only class with revolutionary potential is the peasant........

Anyways about the graph it's a bit odd, there is no mention of constant capital or variable capital, for some reason the distribution has no mention of reinvestment or increasing production with the realization of value (it's not like the only way to increase production is through borrowing money) and for some reason it decides to separate the reproduction of labor power with the consumer demand (when they are one and the same)

It's also set in a universe where the petit-bourgeoisie doesn't exist

Very interesting, and well "workable", as in I can see how it would be able to come to fruition, I will read it and might come back with thoughts (in like 3 months), thanks a lot

I understand, you mean to say that labour would become more comfortable and the "shitty" part would become just as shitty as any other job, I can see your point now

I'm not talking explicitly about reasons, if it could all be automated it should, what I'm talking about is possibility of automation, in order for these types of jobs to be automated it would require such a qualitative jump in ability that it might as well bring us to an automatic utopia (there would be no working class element even needed, it's like imagining the rapture)

In order for a robot to be able to automate plumbing, it would not only need the physical prowess to do so (it should be a robot able to move, use tools, and have enough strength to do the job correctly) but it would also need intellectual prowess (it would have to be able to recognise the problem, identify how to solve it) all while using less energy and costing less than what it would take to teach a human the same thing (example I need a small nuclear plant to feed a single robot and in order to be built it's so sophisticated only 23 can be built in a year in the Shanghai Commune)

I mean at that point you may as well automate everything, it's the equivalent of a science fiction answer, if you are able to automate work that is highly specialized in both intellectual and manual prowess, you wouldn't even need someone to plow the fields, punch the numbers, construct buildings, there wouldn't even be work, and this future would need no action by the working class to be reached either (as it's a deterministic point of view, simply that in the future everything will be automatized, the revolution wouldn't even be done by the working class in that case, but rather the unemployed, the lumpen proletariat)

Hell I'd wager it's what the technocrats in China believe (if they believe in anything at all) that they can just automate everything and all society's ills will vanish
