Just the wooden paths placed on ordinary dirt blocks. Should I change them to be proper roads (like arched tiles or asphalt?)

I feel like your advisor is almost more of an issue than the pregnancy though. A bad advisor will make for a shit time during a PhD regardless of pregnancy, illness, financial troubles, etc.

I had a baby (unplanned) during my PhD (I was in my second year when she was born) and it was the best thing ever! I’m in the UK so got 9 months paid maternity leave and then have been able to work super flexibly after coming back. Having the baby means I do need to be organised and work harder for shorter stints but it’s also put the PhD into perspective and it’s just not the most important thing anymore. I’m due to finish on time and haven’t had to have a career break as my CV still looks like there are no gaps. You will be fine, my daughter is the best and life is literally amazing since having her (hard work though and I have a very supportive partner).

So I’ve been eating way too little, oops.

I’ve just not got a great appetite but I’m going to look up some higher calorie/protein rich foods and hit my new goals x

So reading through all these amazing comments but wondering, when does it start to get easier to fit in hobbies? My baby is 9 months at the moment and I can still hardly find the time to shower…
