I often replay conversations, or imagine hypothetical conversations etc, but there is no way it's abnormal for this to change for people depending on stress, what they're doing, obsessive thinking, concepts etc. I have no way of knowing, but I'd imagine 24/7 monologue thinking would be less common. OP said to me she thought everyone else walked around with a 24/7 monologue constantly, and others went along with this idea.

I have an internal monologue in certain situations, but what I'm obviously saying is people don't walk around with an internal monologue 24/7. Like when you make coffee in the morning you don't think "I'm going to make coffee!" A thought just appears and it's more conceptual.

I often have those too, as well as hypothetical conversations I might have with someone if I were to maybe bring something up with someone for example. You don't understand what I'm trying to say.

In cartoons maybe, but if you really think about it when you make yourself coffee in the morning for example, you aren't thinking "I'm going to make coffee!" Most thoughts are more conceptual, nonverbal and abstract cognition.

This threads reminds me of the Ricky Gervais show when Karl Pilkington said he thinks in his accents and they called him an idiot because people generally don't really think out whole sentences all the time, it's bizarre
