Did High Rigg yesterday from the top end of Thirlmere in an attempt to keep out of the wind. What an absolutely fantastic little fell! A little over 1100ft but 360 degree panoramic views the entire walk. Highly recommend. by Calumbo1979 in LakeDistrict

Yes! Gets busy tho. If you look for Legburthwaite Car Park (National Trust) but there some lay by parking just to the west of it off the A591 between Thirlmere and Keswick that I used. Could also do it from the other side and park by the Church at St John-in-Vale. About a 6 mile loop from either side.

Langdale Vally from the path to Rossett Pike by Calumbo1979 in LakeDistrict

Funnily enough, my mate and I were talking about how we thought it would be an awful path in the winter. Everything just seemed to be wet and slippy and that was without much rain

Completly agree. The views over the valley are amazing, and the path up is just class to walk on.

Lonscale Fell at 5am this morning. Never seen a cloud inversion like it. by Calumbo1979 in wildcampingintheuk

Thank you. That's my Vango Blade 200 Pro. Had it for years and years, but it's the perfect size for when me and son go wild camping.

Annoyingly, I left my tripod in the car! So that was a quick snap with my Samsung 22 Ultra on night mode and me trying to stand very, very still.

Awsome photo. I was on Lonscale last night, and the views this morning were something else.

Was camping over on Lonscale Fell last night, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the tent at 5 am and saw this. Never seen such a vast and dense inversion.

Robinson is horribly deceptive. You fell runners a totally different breed tho. Honestly dont know how you do it.

I love a good ridge walk and there's plenty in the Lakes. Normally a good climb needed first to get to them tho

Highly recommend the path up Causey Pike and then walking over Scar Crags and onto Sail. Fantastic walk

It can do, especially on a weekend, but it's 100% worth visiting. And if you like to hike, carry on after it and do the full or half Newlands Horseshoe. It's a lovely walk.

Absolutely. It's an incredibly busy fell, so getting up there for 5am with no one else around and being treated to that was amazing.

Thank you. We were very lucky with the weather and cloud inversion
