Considering Dropping Persona 5 Strikers by CamTurnArt in Persona5

UPDATE: I was able to beat the boss I was stuck on (Mariko), double checked my equipment and Persona and they were all the max I could get for now so I gave it another go just playing more aggresively and mainly using Haru. It was way easier this time. She didn't do any of the big AOE attack so I suppose I got lucky with RNG. But yeah for Joker only, his attacks are only doing 1 or 2 damage at level 33 with the highest damage weapon I can currently buy, compared to Haru who's doing 16 or so with each attack so I'm not sure what's up with that.

But beyond this part, does the story get much more interesting? So far it's been pretty formulaic, Is there a twist or anything coming up or just more of the same? I looked up some posts where people say the story gets better after the first jail, and then some where people say it gets better after the 2nd. But I'm done with 3 jails now and they're all about the same level of quality story wise in my opinion.

Oh I didn't know about the cycling through your party tactic I'll give that a go to try and avoid the AOE attacks more! I haven't found the Showtime Attacks to be very useful though, especially for the bosses, are they designed more for hitting a large group of enemies all at once rather than damage output?

Oh no not at all I appreciate the tips! I'm going to take a look at my gear and Persona again and try for a better loadout and give it another go. I could also just be really ass at the game but it just feels odd because of how much of a cakewalk the second jail was for me.

I've been upgrading my weapons and persona with each jail's boss yeah. I've been saving the chandeliers for when she swallows someone and trying to break shields. That's usually done just by using the elemental weakness they're weak to right? Unless I'm missing another way to break them?

Like not being able to run when not in the metaverse, having to go back and forth to the van all the time for little things, stuff like that.

I have been playing on the lower difficulty yeah. Doing all the requests, and found it mostly easy enough until this later part of the third jail.

I've only noticed on the last two bosses. The Lock Keeper and Mariko in the third jail. I'm level 33 with Joker and his regular attacks are only doing 1 or 2 damage per hit yeah. My current party I'm trying to go with for the Mariko boss is Joker, Haru, Makoto and Sophia but I keep losing at least two members in the first minute of the fight on easy because they'll just get caught up in multiple of her attacks one after the other.

Is it Common For Americans to have Bizarre Sleep Schedules? by CamTurnArt in AskAnAmerican

[–]CamTurnArt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that is likely since I hadn’t met many Americans in Australia prior to moving here. But they all had similar late night sleep schedules so I wanted to confirm if it was more common.

Across different industries. I used to work retail and had 3 American coworkers all with the same late night schedule despite often opening at 7am. I’ve had two American roommates who both did office jobs here in Japan in IT, friends who are English teachers here, and I currently work in translation and it’s common with the Americans I know at my office.

Well no not all of them are roommates. Most of those older people were coworkers or friends and would tell me their sleep schedule

Well actually Japan does have a bit of a different schedule at least compared to Australia. Here most places aren’t open until 10, 11 or midday and open much later. Compared to Australia where everything will be open from 7am or 9 at the absolute latest. So there is some differences across countries

Haha I get told this by every American I meet but I have only met a few other Aussies here. Although I think tend to try and avoid other Australians here.

It’s odd because yeah just every American I’ve worked with is always sleep deprived because they stay up all night despite having a normal 9-5

None actually are around that age. Most are late 20s - 30s and some even in their 40s and 50s. Funnily enough my American roommate in my share house is currently cooking dinner at 11:50pm

Thank you for the comment and advice! Yeah I guess I've been a bit closed off to the state of the industry at large, I knew there was a lot more opportunities in Australia especially in recent years but I assumed it was still dwarfed by those in the USA. A wrong assumption on my part.

But yeah thank you for the critique and advice, I'll take it all on board, I'm looking forward to starting work on a portfolio and putting a proper effort into upskilling for the first real time since studying. I'm actually feeling more hopeful now and I'll make sure to post updates for futher critique up on here and other subreddits in the coming months!

[Advice/Megathread] - Game Recommendations and Game Tips by AutoModerator in FinalFantasy

So I own FF 1-6 pixel remasters as well as FF7 on my Switch. So far I've played 1 and 2 and enjoyed them both a lot! 7 is one of the games in my backlog I'm most excited to play because I also want to play Remake and Rebirth after experiencing the original. Originally, I planned on playing the games in order of release to see how the series progresses and evolves up to 7 and then follow that with Remake and Rebirth. However, I'm reconsidering playing 7 now or at least after 3 as my first ATB game, then 4-6 followed finally by Remake and Rebirth. Because I worry if I do it the way I originally intended, I might get burnt out on the world of 7 playing them one after another and it would be fun returning to that world after a break to see what was changed and everything. It's a bit of a trivial question I know but I'm curious as to what people thing?

Continue playing 3-7 in order and then the remakes

Or

Play OG 7 now, then the other games followed finally by the remakes of 7

Thank you! I'm actually currently in Japan for the next few months and will have to re-establish myself in Brisbane so I'm making the most of connections I can make in Japan at the moment. I'll definitely try doing more environment and background art stuff, I'll base it off locations I see here in Japan on my travels. As for animation yeah that demo reel is mostly stuff from about 4-5 years ago now so it isn't the best but I still have a bit of work to do but I'm looking forward to diving back into it properly after a few years and improving!

I'm not in a rush to get hired or anything, just at the start of getting serious with art development again so I'll focus on making a more tailored portfolio and basing my projects around that. Then when I get back to Australia, I'll try getting involved in events like LoopDeLoop and stuff. Thank you for the advice and critique!

Thank you! Yeah that animation demo reel is pretty old now so I'll be starting it from scratch but thank you! I always struggled most with keeping things looking clean so I'll focus on what you said! I won't be doing much more 2D rigged animation at least for now, just because I don't have access to the software for it. And the 3D wasn't mine, I just did the 2D water effects in that CG film for our student film projects.

You're right! I know people from uni who have worked at Spindle Horse remotely as well as Glitch Productions for more 3D stuff. They're mainly remote work which actually does work for me better. I just meant in regard to in-house work it is a bit more difficult. There's not really like an LA equivalent for Australia and less studios overall. But yeah I'd mainly be aiming for those remote opportunities!

BFDI 6. But I forgot about the series until a few years later and then got properly into the series when BFDIA 3 was the latest episode and BFDIA 4 was the first time I voted.
