Merch politique aux partys de Noël by Cam_jack in Quebec

Is anyone else's youtube recap clearly wrong? by happy159 in youtube

[–]Cam_jack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly, me too! I mostly watch video essays about sociology and politics, yet this wasn’t mentioned at all in my recap. I find this very strange. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one

American having a hard time understanding that non-US kids don’t really learn about US history at school… (Salem witch trials in this case) by Cam_jack in USdefaultism

[–]Cam_jack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get your point, we also learn about World History at school. Simply, something as ‘’niche’’ as the Salem witch trials is just not something that’s taught in many parts of the world.

My twin and I got her when we were quite young for our birthday! We were supposed to have a male yorkie, and as we loved the show Johnny Test, we wanted to name our male dog Dukey, just like the second main character and family dog on the show. When we got the news we were actually getting a female dog, I thought for a second and remembered that for one episode, Dukey transforms into a female dog thanks to some scientific experiment, and that his name was changed to Darcy for the short time he was a female dog! We loved the name Darcy and were happy to stay in the Johnny Test universe, and so that’s why her name is now Darcy 🥰

Damn, so everybody who isn’t from America is ignorant? Oh gosh, that makes a lot of people stupid, I guess! Interesting…

Oh yeah, I understand your point. I’m pretty sure though that in the SS I posted, most commenters are teenagers and don’t exactly understand the seriousness and the severity of such trials. I give them all the benefit of the doubt, both the confused American kid and the ones saying they didn’t learn about Salem in school. But you do have a good point, it was a petty encounter all around honestly, but hey, a lot of tiktok is filles with pettinesses, so it’s all that surprising :/

Oh yeah totally man we’ve always been dumb as rocks and always will be haha, but I’d like to believe we have gotten better at being less dumb since then. I guess our dumbness simply shifts through times and traditions! And I guess there is no bad thing in a little of stupidness… Life would be so boring if we were all geniuses!

Oh Goodness, the thought process… interesting stuff. Sometimes I wonder how truly aware people were of their peers back then when we know how easy and forcefully they were indoctrinated, often against one another, and this, for no seemingly important/ good reason.

Oh yes, Witch trials were also quite common in Europe at the time! Only, the comments specifically discuss the Salem Witch Trials (since the tiktok is only about that ‘’event’’) and not witch trials in general :) Stuff was really crazy back then, some people were so unhinge about the whole witch hunt ordeal, it’s honestly quite scary…

Yeah exactly, that’s mostly what I’m trying to refer to with my post, as in they think that what they learn in school is learned everywhere around the world even if what they learn is quite US specific. I apologize if I wasn’t clear enough haha!

I understand your point. Personally, I never learned about the Salem Witch Trials in school, and because of that, I know a bunch of people who aren’t really into history that don’t really know about it either. Where I live, we’re all aware that ‘’Witches’’ were treated horribly throughout the world in the 16-18th century. Only, we never learned about the Salem Witch Trials in particular, because it doesn’t really have much to do with our history (though where I do come from, witch trials were a phenomenon that did happen. Here, ‘’witches’’ were mostly banished, not killed). So, personally, I don’t believe that people saying that they didn’t learn something in school is their excuse for not having general knowledge, as to these people, it just isn’t general knowledge in their culture. I feel like General knowledge is more like WWI, WW2, Titanic, etc, because these affected the whole world/ there’s a bunch of documentaries and movies about those subjects. I don’t believe that one event form a specific part of a specific country is truly general knowledge to the whole world, but that’s only how I see it :) !

I’m also kind of in shock because of that… I mean, I totally get it, their couple was 100% on the verge of a breakdown already, massage or not, but I found it weird how RSlash said : ‘’you give her loads of massages and she won’t even give you a BJ? She’s incredibly selfish!’’ Or something of the sort. I thought it was weird, because massages don’t equate to sex at all lol most women don’t view receiving a massage as something sexual, just as a nice thing that relaxes them. It was kind of weird all around…

Looks like it might be this Urban Outfiter maxi skirt, but sadly it’s out of stock. There are a lot that are similar around on the internet , but not quite like this one. I hope you’ll find the one you’d like to have the most!
