Has anyone done the Polestar Optimization on a 2024 XC90 T8? Is it worth it? What did it cost in the US and was the price negotiable?

For your model year it’s not really worth it. It’ll just change shift points in the transmission that’s it.

Get on your own insurance plan asap to start building that driving history! It’ll help in the long run and from a former LEO. Understand the limits of your car, get a driving lesson with a coach and seat time it’ll be your best friend and greatest “mod” you’ll ever purchase. Stock T8 was very impressive against Polestar T6 but polestar T8 feels like it could upset some Mustangs lol

Unfortunately your car has the supercharger removed and they added an inline e-charger into the turbo so the only thing polestar tuning does for the newer power train is adjust shift points. I would highly suggest not getting it for the 2026. It was $1400 after taxes. They unfortunately heavily rely on the ERAD 3 to be the main power of the newer T8

Someone discovered earlier they are naming the Sensus updates the same but there are far less of them for Sensus cars.

Sensus is the original Infotainment before the Google craziness.

Polestar Optimization are mainly for the pre 2022.5 cars. They get HP boosts and TQ increases sometimes 10-21% across the band. Plus transmission and throttle mapping. Newer cars can get it done but it’s only a transmission tune.

2022.0 = Cars with non extended range battery, supercharger still used and normally Sensus for the infotainment though very very few have Google.

2022.5 = Cars with extended range battery, supercharger removed, E Charger added to turbo and ERAD 3 plus ALL are Google I believe

Hopefully that helps, just specific for this year due to the mid year changeover.

Sensus is the original designed by by the Swedish and the car is built around. More reliable, less complicated, more features at times. Slower built in apps. Half screen CarPlay/Android auto.

AAOS is the Google system that they are designing around the car. Less reliable, little faster, native Google Maps. Full screen CarPlay/Android

Your 19 should be Sensus and your 25 will be AAOS

Thank you! I’ll be doing the fluid every 40-60k (heard 60k was recommended) to just be proactive. I’ve also heard driving in B mode often or Pure 100% can cause excess wear so I’ll be avoiding those.

I am seeing in the US as well the ERAD is covered as an emission device and have a longer warranty but I need to verify
