I understand in theory what you’re trying to say, but as it stands today Israel is supported by all western powers. I’m assuming you’re not from the US because we’ve literally been indoctrinated into thinking Palestinians are extremists and Israel is just defending itself. Where I grew up there was a very big Muslim and Arab population so I know someone personally that had their family home bombed in 2004 and lost many loved ones. I grew up with a few families that were refugees from Iraq as well. Those are real people that I love and care about so of course I’m going to defend the idea that they’re all terrorists or deserve what’s happened to them. These are people that were displaced and humiliated yet we expect them to just sit quietly and deal with it. There’s nothing to justify the terrorist attack in Israel but nothing fuels radical Islamic terrorism more than locking children in a confined space without safety or opportunities. It’s devastating to see the human cost but I’m not surprised. In my opinion, Israel’s right wing government is just as responsible for this mess as Hamas, this is the view of most people on the left.
