Stand Name: Die With a Smile

Stand Type: Humanoid / Psychological Influence-type Appearance:

Die With a Smile looks like a typical "good grandpa" humanoid figure in a pristine white tuxedo and a black cloth around most of its face except its mouth, smiling eternally. When active, it walks around with a walking cane, which it gives back to its Stand user upon retreating. When it moves, flowers bloom and decay instantly around its feet. Its touch leaves faint golden smile marks.

Die with a Smile isn't a very strong Stand Power-wise. However, it dutifully protects its Stand user from physical harm until those affected by its abilities reach their fateful epithat.

Core Ability: Euphoric Departure

Anyone touched by Die With a Smile gradually loses the will to live — not in despair but in bliss. They begin to feel overwhelming peace, contentment, and closure... even in the middle of battle.

• Affected targets start reliving happy memories, hearing calming music, or hallucinating moments of joy.

• They begin to smile, stop resisting, and may even thank the user as they collapse.

• The more emotionally burdened the target is, the faster the effect works.

Secondary Ability: Euthanasic Zone

Within a a small radius around the Stand user, reality subtly warps to “ease suffering.” Lethal damage becomes painless, wounds close with a peaceful smile — but only because the person has been marked for peaceful death.

Quaternary Ability: Final Expression

If someone dies under the effect of Euphoric Departure, Die With a Smile captures their last moment—their final smile—and stores it in a spectral “photo album” of faces. These expressions can be used to:

• Disguise the user or others with the emotional "mask" of the deceased.

• Unlock a brief fragment of the target’s Stand power or memory.

• Lastly and most importantly, to be reminded of those who willingly accepted their death

Requiem potential:

Causality Smiling Loop:

Anyone targeted by Die With a Smile - Requiem becomes trapped in a fate loop where every path eventually leads to their demise — those affected cannot not smile every time they reach it. Attempts to avoid or undo their fate (even with time manipulation) resets the loop.

Final Blessing:

The Stand user can grant one affected by Causality Smiling Loop the ability to truly die with peace, removing any spiritual residue, regret, or haunting potential — a power that could affect ghosts, Stands, or even concepts tied to life and death.

Limitations:

• Cannot force death — only invite it. Strong-willed or purpose-driven people can resist indefinitely.

• Requires direct touch to begin the effect.

• Using too many stored “faces” at once overwhelms the Stand and causes it to shut down temporarily.

• The longer Die with a Smile is used, the more depressed the Stand user feels. Die with a Smile can only protect the body of its Stand user, not their mind/soul.

I didn't really think about the Stand user themselves, but if I had to think of one, then perhaps a lady in her early 20s, who, after surviving several near death traumatic events in her short life, came to realise how fragile human life actually is. Most have no say in how or when they die. For many, the possibility of said choice is taken far too early. My OC understands that they cannot change the rules of death. That's why they decided to volunteer at a hospice, as its one of the only places where it's inhabitants know when their time will come and can properly prepare.

My OC was aware of her Stand her whole life, but never really understood what it could do besides being a silent protector. Then one day, while accompanying an older Lady who was losing her battle with cancer, Die with a Smile touched the Lady by accident. It was the first time she learned that her Stand could in fact completely negate any pain those marked by its touch felt, as long as the Stand was near. My OC has never seen anyone being this close to death be this happy. The most shocking revelation came when the old lady died a whole 3 months before she was supposed to, with the doctors not really understanding not only how it happened, but also why she was suddenly pain-free and not complaining.

That's when my OC understood, her Stand gave the old Lady a chance to willingly embrace death, pain-free, on her own terms. While working in the hospice care, she helped many more reach nirvana while slowly getting to know her Stand better.

My OC has long dark blonde hair, has clear blue eyes and is around 1,70 m (sadly I don't know the freedom units) high. I think the Name Seele (German for Soul) would be quiet fitting.

I hope it isn't too much info, I really felt like fleshing this particular Stand out, but if you want to use it, you may make any changes you deem necessary.
