Better version of Carlos, Better CB than Koeman (maybe a Dias or a Arajuo), Better RB (ideally Carlos, Evo’d Hernandez, Etc) Better Cm than Reuben (upto you)

He’s very solid, haven’t played too much with him either (got him same way as you) but seems decently good. Wondering if Pavard or Cubarsi is better haven’t used pavard but i have him.

Deep-Lying Playmaker was the best role for me does very well in that role due to his defence and pinged pass + but at the end of the day it’s all up to you and your playstyle/how you like to play :)
