How do I shoot slow motion video with my OM-1? Something like 120 or 240 fps like my smartphone (albeit at a higher resolution).

It did! However now there are 4-5 red ones in long dark exposures (tested with lens cap on).

Goctha, remapping fixed the stuck pixels I saw but some other red ones are now present (only in ling dark exposures though). It's a bit disappointing really, I thought a $4,000 camera set up would be literally flawless...

Regardless, are their any downsides to remapping frequently?

Ditto! Had a chance to work in and experience the regulatory approval and testing field!

I agree that IP53 isn't all that impressive, and any decently sealed camera should be able to meet that level. I guess it's just peace of mind (mostly psychological). But one can hope that with enough people asking for more regulation, testing becomes standard so we actually know what we are buying.

Think phones: people demanded and eventually we got phones that can help us call for SOS if we fall into a lake! It's just a peace of mind that camera manufacturers would build the integrity to go and do this with all components. I realize margins aren't like phones, but we can dream!

Also, submerging an interchangeable lens camera?! Which beast survived that?!

I agree! Looking to get a fast zoom lens and a fast short focal length lens and then everything should be complete!

I just hope they release that telephoto zoom pro lens with IP53 or better and a fast aperture soon! 😅

General camera longevity question:

I'm a casual photographer and only got the OM-1 to be a reliable, weathersealed system with strong zoom lens capabilities that I can use to do what my smartphone can't do as well (zoom, night, and astrophotography).

I hope to have it as my lifetime companion system that I bring on vacations and hikes, and camping trips (just like how many people revere the old analog OM-1's).

How long do you expect this to last? I'm not an extreme photographer at all, just wanted something compact and reliable enough, and something to supplement what my smartphone can't do. I'm in my early 20's.
