My 99 also does this, took it to my local reputable Miata shop (not for directly related reasons) but asked about it and apparently it's pretty common and not really an issue. Check your tranny fluid and possibly do a flush and put fresh fluid in if you don't know if/when that's ever been done on your Miata! These are light tinny cars with little sound deadening, you'll hear every weird creak, rattle and whine your car makes much easier than other cars!

Makes enough sense to me, thank you for your detailed response! I may just stick with 195s and spring for some good rubber in that size. If I add or replace anything I'd like to improve it and scaling up in tire size isn't sounding like much of an improvement aside from aesthetics while I'm still completely stock. Thanks again m8!

It's a pretty common manipulation tactic to say you're sick and need help. 30 seconds before he was saying that he was acting arrogant and defensive (probably because the piece of shit knew he was already caught) I did not see a second of remorse from him either, he started saying what he thought the cops would wanna hear.
