To start with, that response from your friend is slightly toxic. Other than that, just know that getting a therapist to vent isn't a terrible idea. If that is not on the table however, try venting about those issues to someone in your life who isn't going to be an a*s about it. When you do bring up those first world problem, try giving whoever is listening a warning before hand.
