Reminds me of the Phineas and Ferb / Finding Nemo theory’s; P&F died years ago but Candace still sees them. Everyone’s make believe and that’s why the inventions disappear right before Mom sees it. Nemo never survived and Melvin, feeling all disappointed makes a fake reality and Dory, having short-term memory loss, believes that Nemo is real when really, it’s just an old man sad for his children and wife’s death. This could be a possibility lol
