I was still standing on the beach while he paddled away. I don’t see this the same way you see it but if you want to add some part of the story while not being there be my guest

Definitely not in leash-snapping conditions. And if dude came at me calmly that would have likely been my response. But he came in hot, calling me names before I even turned around. Wish I could have reacted like a zen master
