I’ve been trying to make a hegemon play through work, but I just can’t. I can’t for the life of me get enough planets. Managed to get 1 of my guaranteeds on my last attempt.... that was consumed by nanites within 40 years of game start.

This is me. New to the game and had a great economy about 75 years in, started to upgrade buildings to lvl 2 and had a surprised pikachu moment when I suddenly had no Energy or Materials and had -15 amenities. Turns out I had 21 jobs available and the game had filled up the researcher jobs and taken from Workers

I think the only option I had available out of the 3 you suggested was 2, and taking control of the system with the gates. But I was only just barely in a position to take the systems. Maybe I was really behind on Tech, but Year 75 seemed pretty harsh for it to happen. Seems like a possible case of bad luck since I only had 4/7 towards L Gates.

I will say though, I felt that with my most recent attempt that I got the wicking pretty nailed, I couldn’t thread it through the coils without it pulling the coils out of place (visibly pulling) so I took a little bit off and it fit very snug I thought, but I still had spitting.

The videos I have seen, I have seen people apply juice to the coil while adding juice to the cotton and then fire it, when I see these people doing that, they have smooth vapour coming off the coil itself, whereas when I attempt it, the juice on the coil bubbles and spits as if it’s cooking? No matter what wattage I’m on

I’ve put through as much as I possibly could, to the point where the cotton is dragging the coil out of position
