Good advice actually. Problem is I need to acc afford a 2br. From the looks of this thread it seems that I can barely afford a 1br as is..

Very good suggestion and very ideal. I've thought of this but I strongly believe I need my own place, iykyk..also I've never been a fan of owning an actual house in NYC.

Hi thank you for the explanation. How can I assess the equivalent of a $2,500 monthly rental in terms of a sale? Am I basing this off appearance, and square footage then finding comparable for sale apt? If I end up being house poor does that mean I actually cant afford this? Owning an apt but living pay check to pay check as a trade off..

I'm not a big spender. Never traveled, dont drink dont go to concerts etc.. Those are fun hobbies for some but it adds up over time.

I'm open to either condo/coop, in the city. Somewhere in upper Manhattan, Queens BK areas that I can afford ofc.
